The GoG Rayman games are on sale again

My son loves Minecraft, and after a couple of years of playing the free iOS version, managed to convince us to buy him the Java version in the Microsoft store. I think it's the only thing I bought in that store to date.

I purchased the Java Edition back when it wasn't even owned by Microsoft, so I still haven't bought anything either from that store aside from Rayman Jungle Run!
Definitely a much more enjoyable edition of Minecraft than iOS! I tried most other versions (my first was the Xbox 360 edition around 2012 ), but nothing feels as authentic as the original PC release!

Yeah, I was watching a video about this phenomenon called the “2 week Minecraft phase” where everyone has, like, 2 weeks where they play Minecraft non-stop but then lose interest and don’t return for another few months/years

Nowadays I mostly get that phase with Terraria, RimWorld and Dragon Quest Builders... I just got bored of Minecraft as a whole, I guess. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Back on topic - I decided to buy RRR in the end, together with HoMM IV and HoMM V (which are also on sale)- completing my collection.

Getting some Heroes of Might and Magic is always nice! Well, except VI and VII, but we don't talk about those ones
I got into the series a fews years ago and it's really a delight, especially III and II which I really enjoy!

I’m not sure if it’s just me, but I do feel like the console and mobile releases (which mostly get straight to the point) are less funny than the Java edition (which seems to have a lot of jokes in it). I do miss Minecraft pocket edition and PS3 edition though

I'll admit I've long since fell out of actively playing Minecraft, but I always thought Pocket Edition is what became Bedrock, at least it formed the basis for it from what I recall.

Do feel it's a bit sad how the Legacy Console versions have been left to dust though.

Yes, Bedrock is based off pocket edition, but if you compare pocket edition 1.1 to bedrock edition 1.21 you’ll see a vast difference

Haha ok yeah you got me there, I remember playing the alpha/beta releases and I remember when they had the Nether Reactor cause they didn't have the nether.

Lol, I didn’t even know there was a survival until I was 5, I just kept flying around in creative mode (until they changed the default world setting to survival )

That's also up to Ubi to finally do something with their old games like M. As far as I know, Rayman 2 is technically on Steam... but only available to people with the preorder bonus of Origins. Don't they want the easy money?
I've been dreaming for a proper PC port of M/Arena, because no version I have ever found works, even with patches and stuff!

There's the community wishlist system on GOG, so make sure to encourage them to release more Rayman stuff!

I find it interesting that they added the Polish localization, which, as far as I'm aware, was a separate game, a bit like Rayman 3 has separate Czech, Hebrew, Polish, Russian and Slovak translations. I don't think there's other localized releases for Rayman 2, though.

It is separate yeah, and sadly they didn't integrate it into the main game. So you need to select the Polish language in the installer to get that version, and you can't easily switch back and forth.

I see! That's a bit unfortunate, but it's still good that the good old Polish localization was not forgotten.
