Re: The You Game!
We cant let the You Game die out, not when its so close to 10000!
< Has been managing to keep up with going to the gym for the last month! Although < doesn't see that much of an improvment, < dose certainly feel much better, which is moreso what < cares about anyways. <'s gym partner has also been pushing < to do heavier sets, which < appreciates a lot!

Re: The You Game!
< doesn't think <'d ever go for a gym, it's not the sort of environment <'d feel comfortable in given <'s aversions to loud and noisy places. But < does think < could do with doing strength exercises, god knows <'s back isn't going to be getting any more sturdy as <'s given more painful reminders of <'s aging xD
Much respect to ^ though, it's commendable to be looking after yourself, and keeping your strength, < is sure ^'s future self will thank ^!

Re: The You Game!
Honestly, the gym is really quiet in <'s opinion. Usually theres not that many people at all, and everyone keeps to themselves. Plus, < can check how crowded the gym is online before < goes. As an introvert, its basically perfect for <! If anything, < would recommend that ^ tries going to one with a friend, at least once. < Thought the same about the gym as ^, but going with a friend definitely helped < enjoy it a lot more!

Re: The You Game!
< went back to the gym today for the first time since < left for <'s prematurely aborted ski trip.
< still had to be careful with <'s knee.

Re: The You Game!
A fitness rubber band with some key exercises will do wonders. And biking for the cardio.Master wrote: Wed Feb 04, 2026 9:07 pm But < does think < could do with doing strength exercises, god knows <'s back isn't going to be getting any more sturdy as <'s given more painful reminders of <'s aging xD
(despite all this, < keeps taking on more pounds. < convinces <'sself that it's muscle building up)

Re: The You Game!
< used to bike a few years ago, did laps around the park, but <'s a bit reluctant now since it's a lot busier as COVID restrictions ended and biking on the roads to the park, frankly a bit terrifying. <'s content with <'s brisk walks on the cardio side... though < could probably do with upping to jogs, if < knees are up for it.
< has had a resistance band recommended to < before < might look into that.
< wonders if ^ has a body measurement scale, might be worth it if ^ wants a better readout on muscle/fat mass?

Re: The You Game!
Nah, <'s scale is from Lidl, it sure doesn't do that.
Re: The You Game!
< had put on a fair bit since about a year ago, but then again < was always pretty much underweight. < recalls only being about 62kg in 2023 at one point. < is now 78kg. It's not really that heavy and is about normal for <'s height, but < probably should have more muscle and less beer belly.
< thinks BMI will still say < is overweight, but that doesn't really work for a lot of people.

Re: The You Game!
Yeah, as soon as you start practicing sport on the regular, BMI will be unrepresentative of your health.
Or you can have dense bones, as < does. (Dense bones are bad for <'s diet, or indeed anybody's diet because who in their right mind would suck the marrow out of human bones?)

Re: The You Game!
<'s weight has gone down slightly since it shot back up to being close to the highest < has been last summer. < thinks having something else to distract < from eating is helping, though < could do better than just 30 minutes of exercise each day.
<'s been thinking about getting a resistance band for some time now, though < is likely still too heavyweight to get on a bike. Regret! < now appreciates biking much more given that < used to not like it very much in the past.

< finds that maintaining a good muscle mass really helps with burning more calories at rest.

Re: The You Game!
< thinks today was exhausting due to the fact < didn't sleep well. Luckily < got some jolt of energy by eating something, so there's nothing to worry about. < cannot wait for this forum topic to reach 10k! It would be fun to watch!

Re: The You Game!
< assumes they mean pages. We're a while off it yet though!
Re: The You Game!
Ah, < overlooked that! Yeah 61 pages is still a ways to go

Re: The You Game!
< says hi to ^! What's ^ up to lately?
< managed to get up early this time despite sleeping back at <'s normal time of 4. Now if < can just dial it back little by little, then maybe < can improve it further. Not like <'s got any other bright idea how to improve <'s sleep. Oh and Even though < got up early, < napped for an hour or two later in the day.

Re: The You Game!
That's probably something that < should be doing instead of just getting bigger along with heavier.Hunchman801 wrote: Fri Feb 06, 2026 10:00 am < finds that maintaining a good muscle mass really helps with burning more calories at rest.

Re: The You Game!
< finds running up and down the stairs between the basement and the first floor, several times a day, checking on samples in the furnace, is a nice way for < to keep fit

< also tries to always take the stairs, not the lift. Small things add up!

Re: The You Game!
< usually prefers to take the stairs going down and not the elevator in buildings. < still uses the elevator going up though.
