My roots are mostly French, Italian, and English. I was born in West Germany (my parents were stationed there for a while by the US Airforce), and I currently live in Utah, USA... and both of my parents are Vermonters.

I am amazingly 100% English. I was born in the city I was brought up in, as were my parents, and my parents' parents.

Pure English girl, here. ^^

Bit of background here... I was born in a place called Wordsley, which isn't too far from here. And I've lived in the same area all my life.

So far for a couple basics, it seems to be simple... but that is only a couple of words.

And thanks... I will get to start next week or the week after. 8)

I tried learning Spanish, but I failed badly. I got stuck in the class because I signed up for German 2 (but the teacher quit), then I signed up for French (because I have French relatives and it'd be kind of nice to carry on a conversation for once), and then I got stuck there... and I actually can't get Spanish.

A lot of people I know seem to just... get it quickly... but I just don't remember any of it, notes or non... plus the teaching style they chose was so hard for me, but easy for everyone else. I'm mainly also guessing I can pick up French and German easily because I've been around French and German people in real life, and while I was younger, but... as for Spanish, it's just something I've encountered by moving out west.

English and a little bit of German and French. More German than French. I know enough to understand a sentence or two, and reply back, but not enough to carry on a long conversation or something.

I really wanted to learn German more, but I only got up to German II before all of the German classes got thrown out of the school system because not enough people were taking it.

So yar, as far as complete fluent languages, only English.

I'm born in Bergen in Norway, and have been brought up here as well. ^^
Naturally I speak Norwegian, and English as well. At school I'm trying to learn German, but due to really bad teachers in the previous three years at school, I've hardly learnt anything at all. >____>; After the summer, I'll begin with Spanish at school! :D I'm so looking forwards to it, since I have relatives in Gran Canaria, and in Spain, and I really want to learn that language! ^____^

English? We learn that in school at Norway, we all do that. ^^
It's part of what we are supposed to learn at school since the language is so widespread, and is simple to learn (I think so... o.o ) so we were taught to speak and write English, just as we learned the same in Norwegian, like grammar and that stuff and are quite used to it since we grew up with learning it. =D
I've had English since I was... 7 or 8 years old, and now I'm 16 ;)
I find that very useful since many from Norway are traveling to other countries, and since they don't exactly speak Norwegian in those countries, it's more likely that they understand English right? So we all learn it. ^___^

In France, we only start learning a foreign language when we're 11. Which means I've studied English for seven years.

Here, we only get 3 years of a language available for free. If we want more, we have to take it in college or pay for outside things.. like those cheap tapes or books or whatever.

That actually sucks, it's not enough to learn a language.
