Re: Rayman remake rumor - confirmed by Ubisoft!
Or they thought that we would like a UbiArt remake so much that they're giving us two for the price of one!
(OK, I know it doesn't say "remake"...)

Re: Rayman remake rumor - confirmed by Ubisoft!
Thanks, but I think I'm going to wait on any story spoilers until the game is in my own hands. For my sake, I'd appreciate it if anyone who talks about this leak puts the spoiler marking over their discussions.
Like so:
At the very least, this all but confirms that this remake will have a new story, which is something that I was really hoping for!

Re: Rayman remake rumor - confirmed by Ubisoft!
Seems like the Origins "definitive edition" really wasn't off the table then!
Well, that will make it easier to swallow, but they better give some attention to Rayman 2 and 3 as well for some ports... Like, it wouldn't be difficult to add them as PlayStation classics on PS4/5 or R3 among the NSO GameCube games, or to make the Steam version of 2 finally go public...

Out of curiosity NotNateDrake, are the levels the exact same as the ones in the original Legends, or is it a “revisit the same locations years later” sort of thing? Also, considering Also,

Rayman redesign leaked (here with a familiar skin)
According to your description, could the villain be or a reimagination of him?

I know it always takes some time to get used to a new design, and there's the fact that it's a costume, not the main design, but this weirds me out a little.Squiz wrote: Fri May 29, 2026 5:49 am Rayman redesign leaked (here with a familiar skin)

This looks less like Rayman and more like a generic superhero mascot from a modern mobile game.
The rendering style also highlights exactly what Hugo was talking about earlier with the "sterilizing" effect of modern remakes. Everything is so incredibly glossy, smooth, and round. The hyper-detailed, metallic textures on the fists look completely mismatched next to his flat, simplified face and those massive, overly expressive Pixar-like eyes. It feels like they are trying way too hard to make him look cool and modern, but in the process, they've lost the charm of the classic 3D models.
If this is the kind of aesthetic we can expect from Retold, I'm definitely feeling a bit nervous about this project.

I get your point but I personnaly like the new design. It stay true to his look with a bit of modernizing without doing to much.SuperSinge wrote: Fri May 29, 2026 7:45 amI know it always takes some time to get used to a new design, and there's the fact that it's a costume, not the main design, but this weirds me out a little.Squiz wrote: Fri May 29, 2026 5:49 am Rayman redesign leaked (here with a familiar skin)

Well, it's not exactly something we haven't seen done before with the franchise. (With Legends, no less!)
I think it looks alright. Kinda wish they just built off of what was done in Phantom Show.

Re: Rayman remake rumor - confirmed by Ubisoft!
For the most part, I think this looks good - personally I like how shiny and metallic-looking the Heavy Metal Fists look - but I agree that Rayman's face looks a bit too generically modern. Maybe it's the eyes, the teeth, the weirdly-realistic hair or the blue face mask the skin has now, but something about him just looks... off.SuperSinge wrote: Fri May 29, 2026 7:45 am I know it always takes some time to get used to a new design, and there's the fact that it's a costume, not the main design, but this weirds me out a little.

If this is how he looks in the final release - again, keep in mind that this could be completely fake - then it's nothing I can't get used to, but I would have preferred if they built off of his Rayman 3/Raving Rabbids or Phantom Show appearances here. Even a 3D version of his UbiArt design would have been preferable in this case.
Anyway, the Heavy Metal Fist possibly getting a skin here gives me hope that the rest of the combat fatigues (or at least the LockJaw, which still hasn't shown up after Rayman 3) get some love in this game. So glad to see Rayman 3 getting more representation over the past few years!
As the name suggests, it seems this will just be a remastered version of Origins with a few improvements for modern consoles. That'd probably be enough to warrant a second purchase and playthrough for me, but I was kind of hoping they'd take the opportunity to do a little more with Origins's scrapped stuff. Maybe Retold is covering those bases already?Krith99z wrote: Fri May 29, 2026 7:17 amThe logo got leaked now:Xtof60 wrote: Thu May 28, 2026 9:49 pm https://x.com/intercelluar/status/2060089034719002630

Level design seems completely identical, just with updated 2.5D visuals.Graystripe2000 wrote: Thu May 28, 2026 11:03 pm Out of curiosity NotNateDrake, are the levels the exact same as the ones in the original Legends, or is it a “revisit the same locations years later” sort of thing? Re: Rayman remake rumor - confirmed by Ubisoft!
We've got some more news from a French leaker on Dealabs (whatever that is)!
Translated with Google Translate, the report reads:
Translated with Google Translate, the report reads:
We can confirm that the game is indeed titled *Rayman Legends Retold* and that it is being developed by the teams at Ubisoft Montpellier—not by the Milan studio, as some previous leaks had suggested.
Among the expected new features, the game is set to include an online multiplayer co-op mode supporting up to four simultaneous players—a notable upgrade from the original game, which offered this mode exclusively via local play.
We can confirm a release date of October 1, 2026. The game will receive a physical release, though this version will be available exclusively on PS5 and Nintendo Switch 2. The exact format of this edition remains unknown at this stage. A "Launch Edition"—containing a few bonus items—is also planned for release at select retailers worldwide.
Regarding the official announcement: according to our sources, the game is expected to be unveiled—and made available for pre-order—no later than June 2nd, around 10:00 AM (French time). This would be at least a few hours prior to the *State of Play* broadcast. If this date is confirmed, it would contradict rumors suggesting the reveal would take place during Sony’s event. However, we remain cautious on this point, as our level of confidence is not absolute.
We have obtained pricing details for the US market. The price in Euros remains unknown at this time, though it is expected to be €39.99:
Rayman Legends Retold (Launch Edition): $39.99 (USA)
This matches the pricing of *Rayman Legends: Definitive Edition*, which was released on the Nintendo Switch in 2017. A rather rare and welcome price stability—especially for a title that positions itself as a true remake.
We are continuing our investigation to uncover further details about the game—particularly regarding the timing of its announcement—and will not hesitate to get back to you as soon as we have any news.

I'm still gonna wait for Ubisoft to tell us, would rather hear it from the horse's mouth. Taking this with a grain of salt.
Also hate to say it, but that "key art" I just saw isn't even accurate to the Heavy Metal Fist "art" we saw. That's unfortunately AI.
(I genuinely hope Ubisoft is not turning to that, cuz that's gonna make people so upset, including myself.)

Hate to break it to you, pal, but that's just plain AI. Maybe this is just a mockup of the key art they generated to make for real later, but Globox, Murfy, Betilla and El Luchador just look too AI for me to take it seriously.
