Re: Rayman remake rumor - confirmed by Ubisoft!
See, now I'm getting worried. If all of these images were leaked by the same person on 4chan, and all of the leakers have been getting their info from this one person's leaks, then it's very possible that this could all be an elaborate hoax meant to draw attention to themselves. Thinking back on some of the things we've heard about - a new plot, 3D shoot-em-up sections, new skins - they almost sound too good to be true. I can't help but be concerned that this one person just made up all this info, somehow managed to spread the misinformation across the entire internet, and now has gotten us all interested about a game that doesn't exist and will be revealed to not exist come June 2nd. All that hope and excitement, all for nothing...danyq94 wrote: Fri May 29, 2026 3:33 pm Also, I searched all over 4chan for this image, and it turns out it’s from this thread.
https://boards.4chan.org/v/thread/73979 ... ition-leak
The person who posted it seems to be the same one who posted the other images of the Rayman logos and skin.
He says: "next time mention who published these things online
namely, me."
So the source isn’t exactly anonymous.
...or maybe it will be real, and I'll be celebrating Rayman finally getting a new-ish console game for the first time in nearly 13 years. Who knows?
Edit:
All of them are AI generated... (sigh)RayWizard wrote: Fri May 29, 2026 4:30 pm GUYS HELP ME PLEASE THERE'S 3 NEW IMAGES THIS GUY KEEPS SENDiND PHOTOS
Oh yeah, we are SO cooked. I hate it when stuff like this happens...

This is getting ridiculous, guys.
You believe in images that are clearly generated by AI, but you claim that an upscaled (and real) image is fake.

Re: Rayman remake rumor - confirmed by Ubisoft!
I think it's a bit pointless to argue over what is AI and what is not at this point, since it's all speculation until the game is officially announced.
I suggest we avoid lengthy debates about this for now and wait a little to see who's right. That'll save us all a lot of energy!

Well, even if this is merely the result of some terrible upscale, I certainly wouldn't blame anyone for believing these specific few are fake.danyq94 wrote: Fri May 29, 2026 4:35 pm This is getting ridiculous, guys.

Too many details just don't make sense (like the skin now returning to the joined eyes for no reason as the outfit doesn't reference a past Rayman game, or the third drawstring which should just not exist),
[Don't know about the third one as it doesn't load for me
I'm not saying they're necessarily fake, just that no one should be blamed for being cautious especially in this era where elaborated hoaxes have gotten even easier to make.
Most importantly, let's keep everything respectful, everyone. Until everything is officially confirmed by Ubisoft, any leak (regardless of their authenticity) and the discussions around them are mere speculation.
Let's keep the discussion nice and calm!

The KeyArt released earlier, the one with Betilla, is real but is just the result of upscaling. This causes a lot of detail to be lost.
In fact, judging by the wave of hate Ubisoft has been facing for years from leakers like j0nathan, I wouldn’t be surprised if it was done on purpose to make people think Legends Retold is AI-generated.

To be honest, if RayGamer's theory ends up being right and this entire 'Retold' thing is just a massive 4chan hoax, I don't think I'd even be mad. Given how polarizing and 'off' these leaked 3D designs have looked, a hoax might actually be a blessing in disguise lol.
Either way, June 2nd is going to be a wild day. If it's a fake, the community has been trolled on a legendary scale. If it's real, we're in for a very weird era of Rayman.

Now that I think about it, there's also a solid chance that the information Nate and the others have been leaking is true, but the images that the 4chan fellow has been leaking are all fake. I would be pleased with that outcome myself, but like you said, we'll just have to wait for that fateful State of Play to know for sure.SuperSinge wrote: Fri May 29, 2026 5:11 pm To be honest, if RayGamer's theory ends up being right and this entire 'Retold' thing is just a massive 4chan hoax, I don't think I'd even be mad. And yes. They can always throw in some fakes or edit the actual pictures with AI to harm the credibility of Ubisoft.
We'll see once Ubi will unveil anything.
And at least, fake or not, it did rekindle my interest for what a reboot of Legends or even Origins could be!SuperSinge wrote: Fri May 29, 2026 5:11 pm To be honest, if RayGamer's theory ends up being right and this entire 'Retold' thing is just a massive 4chan hoax, I don't think I'd even be mad. Re: Rayman remake rumor - confirmed by Ubisoft!
I'm actually in the camp that believes the main key art is real, just horribly upscaled and compressed. But honestly, that almost makes it worse.
What on earth did they do to Betilla? She looks like a generic NPC you'd see in an ad for a cheap mobile fantasy MMO. I'm just going to call her "Generilla" from now on because there is absolutely nothing Rayman-esque about that design.
If they are completely stripping away the quirky, cartoony charm of the Rayman universe in favor of this bland, hyper-realistic art style for the 3D models, then my expectations are somehow even lower than before. Let's just see what next week brings, I guess...

I also don't understand why they chose to redesign Betilla like this. Not only does she feel out of place with the other characters, but it's also very inconsistent with her original design (I don't even care about her skimpy Origins design). Wouldn't Ly have been a better fit for this kind of fairy character? Or even a new character entirely?

Re: Rayman remake rumor - confirmed by Ubisoft!
I'm still not sold on the Betilla in the maybe-AI-maybe-not key art being her final design, but if it is, it would be very strange and out of place, like Hunch mentioned. Both of her previous designs look more cartoony to fit with the respective games' art styles, so why wouldn't this one be? It would be a weird and pretty jarring style clash to have a cartoon human girl and a generically-realistic fairy in the same game, and it just doesn't make sense for them to make that decision.
Also - and if the answer has something to do with the story spoilers Nate mentioned, then please, no one answer this question - what is Betilla even doing here? Her sole purpose in both of her mainline appearances was to grant the gang new powers, but the heroes start with all of their powers intact in the original Legends. Unless they have to regain them all again, or unless she has a separate role in the story, I just don't see how she would work her way into a Legends remake.
Don't hear me wrong, it would be good to see her again - even if her supposed design makes no sense to be the way it is - but I don't want her to feel shoehorned into the game just for the sake of her being there.

Yup, the loss of the series' whimsical charm is still too much of an issue...hoodlumsworld wrote: Fri May 29, 2026 5:25 pm I'm actually in the camp that believes the main key art is real, just horribly upscaled and compressed. But honestly, that almost makes it worse.

Still, I would prefer a more serious Betilla over the Origins depiction which didn't fit Rayman (and Betilla's behavior was too different from her original incarnation... just like pretty much every other character in these Ubi Art games in fact
At the very least, as she'll have limbs again, I wouldn't mind if she'll be more in line with Ly especially when it comes to the personality...
But yeah, too generic in this pic,
And like Hunch said, this is looking completely out of place with every other character (and generally, too much of this key art is lacking cohesiveness in the style and tone of so many things).

Re: Rayman remake rumor - confirmed by Ubisoft!
Really interesting seeing you all discuss around what direction you want Rayman to go. As someone who grew up with Origins and Legends (I’m 20 years old) im honestly very very excited to see where we’re headed towards. Don’t get me wrong I am absolutely livid that the next game isnt original and the fact they’ve abandoned UbiArt engine is rubbing salt into the wound.
Regarding the actual leaks, I find it extremely hard to believe they key art isnt AI created (even if it were upscaled alone) I find it insane no one has mentioned how Murphy looks like a crack addict. Sweet mother of pearl those ten years must have been really tough on him xD
(Unrelated but mes amis how the HELL DO YOI NAVIGATE THIS FORUM. This is new to me as someone who is just learning how to use social media outside of just Reddit twitter and Bluesky, I love seeing how passionate the fans are in this forum but it is so confusing trying to find specific topics that I want to find discourse on)
Anyways I AM HAPPY TO BE HERE YEAHHHH GLORY TO RAYMAN!!!

Re: Rayman remake rumor - confirmed by Ubisoft!
I'm hedging my bets on all of this being real. Do people even care about Rayman enough in 2026 to make a fake leak?
Re: Rayman remake rumor - confirmed by Ubisoft!
I bet they did just because of fun. they made an astro bot tweet which got taken down by them PROBABLY. the last rayman game was in 2013 (in 2019 if you count Mini and if you are 2015 SINCE RAYMAN ADVENTURES IS THE BEST...). fiesat and jugnle run being released in 2022 is just a port.Sabertooth wrote: Fri May 29, 2026 7:51 pm I'm hedging my bets on all of this being real. Uhh well that image fooled like everyone IF it is real. Murfy looks drunk and looks like he will do unspeakable things to me, luchador's eyes are weird AND betilla what happened to you just look at the revolution, Rayman 1 and Origins were fine but now she doesn't have a green hat, her wings are weird and probably more. also why is there a cage below the toads with literally nothing or no one in it.danyq94 wrote: Fri May 29, 2026 5:00 pm Let me clarify: I’m saying that the images posted by RayWizard are clearly fake.

Re: Rayman remake rumor - confirmed by Ubisoft!
Well, there's always the chance someone could try to "capitalize" on a niche... just like Ubi themselves!Sabertooth wrote: Fri May 29, 2026 7:51 pm I'm hedging my bets on all of this being real. Do people even care about Rayman enough in 2026 to make a fake leak?
Never underestimate the Internet's ability to make up fake crap, no matter how obscure the topic is or how elaborate the hoax can be!
But hey, whether we got completely bamboozled or not in this topic, I hardly minded as it became a bit of a fun "brainstorming" for what we could want to see or NOT see in a reboot of Origins/Legends!
(And I got to use this again to keep my mind busy and wandering while the summer heat and my headache subside to a bearable degree
The main issue is how the leak -inevitably- got spread to social media where it will inevitably create a lot of nasty discourse...
So at that point, I think I'd just rather discuss our expectations (as June would indeed be a good month to announce anything Rayman-related especially with the physical release of 30th Anniversary Edition at the end of it), rather than the authenticity of these leaks.
Because we're either feeding some good ol' trolls by doing so, or wasting our time on a loop of going back and forth on saying "this is real cuz this"/"this is fake cuz that" when it's pretty much pointless until we get any official announcement.
As for the RayWiki article, aren't we usually totally opposed to speculative pages like that?
I'm not saying we should remove its contents from existence as it's a good rundown of the leak (and we could thus archive them in some way somewhere), but it at least needs a rewrite indeed.

Just saying this before the moderation does and so you don't get penalized should you happen to repeat it: don't make multiple simultaneous posts like that as it's always been against forums' rules. Re: Rayman remake rumor - confirmed by Ubisoft!
Hi yea I will follow the rules that's the least of our problems. I created the RayWiki page and added many warnings that this is not 100% confirmed. On June 2 if it does get announced I'll add the new info and delete the old incorrect info if any. I still don't like betilla's design I think something like this would look cooler (betilla on this image)Mortamon Saturn wrote: Fri May 29, 2026 8:38 pm Just saying this before the moderation does and so you don't get penalized should you happen to repeat it: don't make multiple simultaneous posts like that as it's always been against forums' rules.
