Agree.SuperSinge wrote: Sun May 31, 2026 7:00 pm If the whole "Retold" angle means they are actually taking those 1:1 levels and stitching them together with a proper overworld, hub, and story cutscenes to give them some actual context, that alone would be a huge upgrade over the original.

I hope they include new worlds

It would be very interesting (and funny) if they added the Rabbids again as enemies

Yes.
1. Yes.Squiz wrote: Sun May 31, 2026 7:18 pm Do you know if the bubble dreamer is still in the game?
Also, about the new costumes, are they all just skins like in the original game or they give special abilities?
2. They're still just skins.
I'm not 100% sure on the exact lineup, but I believe the final selection will be smaller than what we got in the Definitive Edition.RayGamer99 wrote: Sun May 31, 2026 7:50 pm Sorry to bother you Nate, but I've had one particular question that's been nagging at me for a while. Would you happen to know if the skins from the original Legends are coming back? Even the ones that were exclusive to certain consoles (i.e. the PS3/PS4-exclusive Assassin Ray, the PSVita-exclusive Glob Cell, the Wii U/Switch-exclusive Ray and Glob Plumbers)? If not, then which ones got the axe? I know the Definitive Edition had all of the skins, but I've been wondering if they'll all come back for this one.
Thanks in advance, and sorry again for the trouble! I know you've been getting a lot of questions about this game, and I didn't really want to add to them, but this one has been on my mind for a while.![]()

Do you know if the soundtrack will remain the same or are they remaking the music as well? Is they are remaking it, is Christophe Héral still in charge of the soundtrack of the game or did they hired a new composer?

Re: Rayman remake rumor - confirmed by Ubisoft!
Yeah... if the level layouts end up the exact same, it's going to further defeat the purpose of this reimagining...
Like, we already got a "Definitive" edition of the original and ports playable on most current systems, they're not going anywhere, so use your retelling of the game to actually go wild with new ideas.

As it was noted he was going to return to work on the next Rayman games (in plural), and the first turned out to be 30th Anniversary Edition, it's clear it's going to be him again. Probably for more pieces for the extra levels/cutscenes, or a full blown remake of his previous works.DocLoFer wrote: Mon Jun 01, 2026 9:15 am Do you know if the soundtrack will remain the same or are they remaking the music as well? It was because he's probably going to recompose his soundtrack for Legends or expand it with new pieces should it be the same thing with more stages...
And as they did say it in plural, this pretty much would imply too that we're not escaping the UbiArt milking loop ANYTIME SOON... despite the fact the cow has been already bone-dry since the mid to late-2010s.![]()

Darth Glutueis was a Red Wizard of the Glade of Dreams, so powerful and so magically gifted he could use his Vubooduboo to draw the poison right out of the deadliest bubeastietubbis... He had such a knowledge of the mystic arts that he could even keep the ones he cared about from succumbing to venomous stings. The Vubooduboo arts are a pathway to many abilities some consider to be unnatural.
He became so red... the only thing he was afraid of was losing his crimson hue, which eventually, of course, he did. Unfortunately, his massive appetite clouded his vision. He mistook a blue mosquito's eye for a berry and swallowed the insect whole. It buzzed noisily from within his belly for help, and a massive swarm of blue mosquitoes descended to sting him in his sleep, fusing into his skin and turning him permanently blue.
Ironic. He could save others from venomous stings... but not himself.

You guys are getting worked up over nothing.
Recency bias indicates that a RL remake will be a compilation of the different releases up to that point. Which is great because you will still have issues playing the WiiU version on a Xbox Series X controller.

It’s the day before the reveal.
A lot has been said here and on socials, but there’s one thing I can say with absolute certainty: the key art is real.
The problem is that the leakers posted it online with an horribly upscaled using AI, causing it to lose countless details.
The shoes? They’re from Legends and Origins, as you’d expect; comparisons to the Rayman 3 power-up skin (which has the look and shoes of Rayman 3) are pointless.
The weird eyes? That’s thanks to the terrible AI that upscaled the image.
Betilla? Wait for the game and you’ll see.
Enjoy Rayman, everyone! Support the game to ensure a bright future for the franchise, because Rayman deserves it. And so do the developers behind him.

I may be in the minority here, but I love the soundtracks he's made for the franchise, and yes, I am including the 30th Anniversary, even thought I must admit it's not one of his strongest works, but still, the original OST from Legends is probably one of my most played albums ever it's just incredible. I do agree that maybe there's no need to play a kazoo in every single track of the game, but still, I think that people don't give enough credit to other tracks like "The Enchanted Forest" which I believe pretty much sums up what I think the franchise vibe should be.Mortamon Saturn wrote: Mon Jun 01, 2026 10:38 am

I might be repeating myself, but even though I distinctly remember playing the first game in a flip phone YEARS before Origins released, I grew up with the UbiArt games and then played Rayman 2 and 3, so I might not have such a negative outlook in how they affected the franchise lore. I understand that it was a big jump from what Rayman 2 and 3 did to what the UbiArt games proposed to the franchise, but I still think that both ideas can coexist. I think that my biggest issue with the older games is how they went for a darker aesthetic, insteand of keeping in line with the first game. Rayman 1 had beautiful bright stages and then darker enviroments that still suited the adventure quite well, and I feel like Rayman 2 and 3 went to dark to the point were I personally think they lost a bit of the balance that the first game had in that regard. Ironically, Origins did the complete opposite and went full brightness with just a few darker stages like the the Serendipity Sea. Then I think Legends found a somewhat satisfying balance for me with a darker aesthetic and some bright imaginative open stages that overall I felt worked really well.
But yeah, I'd like to think that there's a way were both the darker tones of Rayman 2, the mean spirited comedy of Rayman 3 and the over the top cartoon nonsense of Origins and Legends can coexist, I feel like Rayman is one of the few characters that can seamlessly jump between being a "lobotomised loon" as I've seen some people refer to him in the UbiArt games and a serious hero that still gets the job done. I think that's what sets him apart from other videogame characters like Crash (who's pretty much a lunatic) and Sonic (who is a more sarcastic hero with an attitude), and I also believe that, despite the kazoos and didgeridoos, Héral can accomplish that balance as well.

I definitely respect your perspective, DocLoFer, and I won't deny that Héral is a genuinely talented composer. Legends has some great tracks that fit that specific game perfectly.DocLoFer wrote: Mon Jun 01, 2026 11:38 am I may be in the minority here, but I love the soundtracks he's made for the franchise, and yes, I am including the 30th Anniversary, even thought I must admit it's not one of his strongest works, but still, the original OST from Legends is probably one of my most played albums ever it's just incredible. But I don't think the "lobotomized loon" tone and the constant kazoos can seamlessly coexist with the surreal, atmospheric mystery of the older games. We literally just saw what happens when they try to mash those vibes together with the 30th Anniversary release, and I thought it was a total mess.
If Héral is returning to compose new tracks or remake the score for Retold, I really hope he leans more toward the atmospheric stuff rather than just giving us more ukuleles and whistling. The franchise desperately needs to remember how to be weird and mysterious again, not just a wacky cartoon.
Well, there it is. Henderson is rarely wrong about this stuff, so State of Play it is.Krith99z wrote: Mon Jun 01, 2026 3:45 pm https://x.com/_Tom_Henderson_/status/20 ... 1538223268

I'll admit, hearing that it looks "really impressive" gives me a tiny sliver of hope, but anyway, tomorrow we finally see what this is all about. Let's hope for the best...

And here I thought that key art was fake! Good to know it was just a horribly upscaled by AI. I am still feeling skeptical about Betilla, though...but like you said, wait for the game and see.danyq94 wrote: Mon Jun 01, 2026 11:29 am It’s the day before the reveal.

Well, I'm looking forward to it. A 1:1 remake doesn't interest me much, and making this beautiful game fully 3D/2.5D seems like a downgrade to me no matter how good the 3D art is. Shoving a story into a game that never needed one seems rather weird to me, too. But if there are new levels or better yet, new worlds and new musicals, I'm interested.

Re: Rayman remake rumor - confirmed by Ubisoft!
I figured this would happen, and I have... a few thoughts on it.NotNateDrake wrote: Mon Jun 01, 2026 10:37 pm Yes, Héral is back. The entire soundtrack was completely re-recorded from scratch.
On the one hand, recomposing the soundtrack for a game with more content than the original opens up the opportunity for Héral to bring back some of the unused songs in the game's OST release. I'd love it if tracks like "The Fortified Castle," "Lost in the Clouds," or "Mambo Mambo" got a new lease on life, and the prospect of brand new songs in the same style as Legends's beautiful soundtrack brings me lots of excitement!
On the other hand... I can't ignore that he hasn't had the most reliable track record in recent years...
Considering the fact that Héral composed the entire soundtrack for Legends (aside from a few pieces by Billy Martin), I'm not really sure how he could top the original tunes. I'd love it if he did, but considering what happened in the Rayman in the Phantom Show DLC and 30th Anniversary collection (neither of which were terrible overall, especially not Phantom Show, but lacked the special sauce that previous Rayman soundtracks had), this has me worried that he'll overgeneralize the series's music again and just slap a bunch of kazoos and ukuleles into the OST. The man can create incredible music - just listen to his work in Origins, the OG Legends, and BG&E - but his latest works have me concerned and a bit doubtful.
I mean, imagine tracks like "The Enchanted Forest" or "When the Wind Blows," but with kazoos and jaw harps placed throughout it. It would completely ruin the tone set by them!
Then there's music in worlds like Fiesta de los Muertos and 20,000 Lums Under the Sea, which lean hard into a very specific musical style (traditional Spanish music for the former, and James Bond-esque spy music for the latter) that just don't suit the instruments that have been overused in recent games. I'd hate to imagine jaw harps being slapped into songs like "Luchador" or "Mansion of the Deep," and if he lays a proverbial finger on my beloved Invaded tracks, I just might lose it!
Finally, remember the few pieces that Billy Martin composed? I'd imagine that Ubisoft would still be able to use them, but if for some reason they couldn't get the rights to it, I would be rather disappointed and a bit upset if they got replaced by new pieces that follow the trend that Phantom Show and 30th Anniversary have started. Billy didn't make a lot of music for the game, but the tracks he did compose are just as incredible as Héral's own work. Case in point:
A track that plays in a Minotaur's Maze didn't need to be this good, yet somehow it has as much, if not more, funky spy energy as all of the music in the designated spy world! You'd think it was meant for 20,000 Lums Under the Sea but didn't make the cut and was moved over to this level instead (which, funny enough, is probably exactly what happened
If Héral can tap back into the musical variety and soul he brought to the soundtracks of the mainline UbiArt games, a redone soundtrack could be the stuff of legends. However, if he follows the same musical philosophy that he's done in Phantom Show and the 30th Anniversary version of Rayman 1, I fear that he might just make the soundtrack worse. Messing with the soundtrack of the very first game was bad enough - even if it's not as bad as some people make it out to be - but if Héral somehow butchers one of my favorite, if not my absolute favorite, Rayman OST (which was his own work, mind you), I will be greatly disappointed.
