Wow, I wasn't expecting it to look this promising! Like Hoodlums said, the environments are stunning, but the character models I'm kinda iffy on. I hope Heral does good on the OST, and there's like... An actual story. Overall, I'm actually pleasantly surprised by this, just... Why couldn't it have been Rayman 2 or 3?

My theory is that they want to kind of reboot the franchise, and that maybe they thought it would be easier to do so starting from Origins/Legends, because they're the only two mainline games in the franchise that maintain the same overall design and vibe, and because maybe it would've been easier to remaster Origins and remake Legends in a way that could reassemble what was originally planned for the game. Maybe this new version of Legends is closer to what both Rayman 2 and 3 tried in terms of vibes and overall ambience of the games while maintaining the same design philosophies from the UbiArt games in order to create a sort of standardised look for the franchise for future projects.

What's that little Rayman logo in the bottom right corner? Are they making some kind of separate team only for the Rayman franchise like SEGA and the Sonic Team? And why use the UbiArt font for that logo and then remake the main logo in the box art when the first one is arguably better and more recognisable??

If Ubisoft has actually established a dedicated "Rayman Team" or studio division specifically for this franchise, that would be the best news of the decade! Maybe Retold really is just their proving ground to get the team warmed up before moving on to a brand new Rayman 4?

A dedicated "Rayman Team" acting like Sega's Sonic Team would literally be the dream. But it's much more likely that this is just a new umbrella branding stamp for the IP going forward, maybe to unify the games, the merch, and the Origins remaster under one corporate label.

For now it looks worse to me than Ubisoft India's Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time remake ever did. You know, the one that was announced in 2020, met with huge internet backlash, got delayed and then transferred to another team, restarted development and then got cancelled again at the start of this year.

But let's see how it looks in motion.

It's official: the rumors are now reality! Although many details leaked over the last few days, Ubisoft has formally announced both Rayman Legends Retold and Rayman Origins Enhanced Edition during tonight's State of Play presentation.

Since we now have official details and two very distinct remasters/remakes to discuss, we are closing this rumor thread to prevent one giant, cluttered mess.
