What is the best part about Rayman Origins Enhanced Edition?

The visual glow-up (4K resolution, 60 FPS, and finally getting uncompressed UbiArt textures).
4
25%
The lost content (bringing the PS Vita exclusive relics and murals to the big screen).
6
38%
The gameplay tweaks (the modern quality-of-life upgrades, controller haptics, and new difficulties).
4
25%
The accessibility. I'm just happy it's finally playable on modern hardware like the PS5.

6%
Nothing. The original 2011 release is still flawless and didn't need this.

Welcome to the main discussion thread for Rayman Origins Enhanced Edition!

Following the announcement during the State of Play, this remaster of the 2011 platformer is set to release on modern systems, reportedly included as part of the package with Rayman Legends Retold.

Running in 4K resolution at 60 FPS, this remaster updates the game for modern platforms with quality-of-life and accessibility features. It also appears to integrate the previously exclusive PlayStation Vita content, alongside updated photoboard designs and Murfy.

Feel free to share your thoughts, impressions, and expectations for this remaster in the discussion below.

edit: ..right, i wasn't paying attention, anywho, i'll be picking this one up along with retold.

So you're telling me, after going through the effort of collecting all those relics on Vita, they decided they will put them on the big screen now? Great, now they have to be done all over again at a higher resolution.

It's good that Rayman Origins will get a rerelease on modern platforms. I'm not a big fan of this game but I will probably replay it. :)
Sure would be cool if Ubisoft could give R2 or R3 a rerelease instead, but I'll take it.

The relics are cool addition, but I just wish they'd forgotten about the dumb mosaic stories for this reedition. :tssk:

I'm glad they didn't forget about the PSVIta's Collectible Relics, this breaks this port free from the exclusivity cage. I still hate the mosaics, tho  . It's Teensie folklore in my head unless it's officially proven the contrary.

It's my least favourite entry in the series but I guess that exploring the new contents and QoL improvements are a good opportunity to revisit the game. I believe last time I played Origins was 7 years ago in the short time interval I had a PSVita and the game copy to try out the unique features.

I plan to record this edition for my YouTube channel, perhaps for early 2027 since Legends Retold is a priority for me to cover it.

Voted for the Relics, although I'm also interested in the QoL features. Perhaps those will make the game a bit more enjoyable to play again, especially how difficult it is to perfect level scores with the Lums Medal in single player (Riding the Storm, I'm looking at you).

I also voted for the Relics, as I'm always in favor of exclusive content being made available in the modern day.

Boy, does this open up some old wounds! I remember spending so long getting enough Lums in that particular level to get the last Electoon I needed to unlock Glombrox. Indeed, hopefully they tone down those requirements... :oops2:

I had to vote for the visual glow-up. Getting those uncompressed UbiArt textures in 4K is going to look incredible.

Though bringing back the Vita exclusive relics is a very close second! It is just great to finally have a true definitive edition of this game. :mryellow:

This article on Steam includes interesting details about the new features in Rayman Origins Enhanced Edition:
All you need to know about Rayman Origins: Enhanced Edition!

The standard edition of Rayman Legends Retold includes Rayman Origins: Enhanced Edition.

We’re baaaaack!

The Glade of Dreams calls in Rayman Origins: Enhanced Edition!

Ubisoft Da Nang have brought Rayman and his friends back, they’re facing trouble once again! Their nightmarish neighbors from the Land of the Livid Dead are taking up arms. Rayman never shies away from a challenge; he gets right back at them, saving Nymphs and learning new powers in the process.

Initially released in November 2011, Rayman Origins was an important installment of the franchise. Relive the adventure in an improved way…or, an enhanced way, if you will!

Rayman Origins: Enhanced Edition brings important quality of life improvements, improved resolution, new collectibles to uncover and haptic feedback for compatible devices. Platform exclusive standees are also becoming available on all platforms.

Features:

Improved visuals
  • 4K textures – original textures have been improved to offer a definition aligned with modern expectations.
New Collectibles:
  • Relics – Originally available in the PS Vita version, relics are the hardest to find collectibles hidden across every level.
  • Mosaic Gallery – Also returning from the PS Vita version, relics can be used to unlock origin videos for Rayman and Globox in the Mosaic Gallery.
  • Additional Skins – 18 new skins will be added to the game, bringing the total skins available to 34.
  • New Standees – The original game only had 1 standee; we’ve added 50 more for you to enjoy! There will be a different standee for every level you complete, and they also go over the lore, characters, memorable events and funny interactions from Rayman’s adventures!
  • Updated Achievements List – a total of 39 achievements across all platforms, with 10 new Ubisoft Connect achievements.
Quality of Life:
  • Skip Cutscenes and Speed Up Level-ending
  • Toggle Running – switch the run button to a toggle!
  • Controls Remapping – now all players can remap their controls via the Controls Menu!
  • Vibration and Haptics – vary depending on the character you play!
Accessibility:
  • Murphy’s Assist – Murphy is now available at the start of previously-completed levels. You can choose to let him accompany you and he’ll point out any remaining hidden treasures and collectibles with a sound cue to help you out!
  • Gold and Diamond Hearts – Replace the Red Heart with a Gold or Diamond one, which protect you from 2 and infinite hits, respectively.
  • Fairy Blessing – Feeling stuck? Can’t get past a tricky area? Activate the Fairy Blessing in Options to become nearly invincible, gain free flight and damage enemies as you move through them.
Expanded Snoring Tree:
  • Concept Gallery – Unlock 70+ concepts from Rayman Origins by collecting Lum Medals! Concepts are viewable in a playable gallery level.
  • Standee Viewer – With now 51 Standees to take pictures in, there is now a dedicated area for you to browse all the ones you’ve unlocked and take pictures with them.
Availability

Rayman Origins: Enhanced Edition will automatically be added to your library from October 1st upon purchase of Rayman Legends Retold.

We’re excited to pay homage to even more of the history of Rayman. We hope you enjoy taking Rayman and his pals back on this quest through the Glade of Dreams.

Wow, this is actually a fantastic list of updates! 😊

The ability to skip cutscenes and speed up the level-ending sequence? The speedrunning community is going to absolutely love that. 😜

I am honestly most excited about those 50 new standees going over the lore and memorable events, though. We have been starved for proper world-building for so long, so it is really cool to see them using this as an opportunity to flesh out the universe a bit more. 😌 Let's hope they actually reference the older games!

Bringing back the Vita-exclusive relics is also great for game preservation. It was always a shame that content was trapped on a dead handheld. And 18 new skins is a crazy amount of extra content to just drop in!

It is interesting to see that Ubisoft Da Nang handled this remaster. And look at that sign-off at the bottom: "The Rayman Team" again! Like I mentioned the other day, it is probably just a new corporate umbrella branding for the IP...

Quite frankly, this Enhanced Edition package almost sounds more appealing than the main Retold game at this point lol. I can't wait to get my hands on it! 😊

Wow, 50 new standees?! That's way more than I was expecting! And if they all reference lore and characters from previous games (the one they put in the Steam update seems to be an homage to the classic Rayman 1 photoboard), then that'll make them a lot more interesting and fun to see! :D

Also, and perhaps more excitingly, 18 NEW SKINS!!! Not sure what they'll be yet, but if they do end up reusing some of the scrapped skins like I hoped they would alongside brand new ones (or just reused ones from Legends or the mobile spin-offs), then I, for one, am in for a real treat! :teuf: :teuf:

Add all of that to the other new collectibles (getting every Lum medal for concept arts is gonna be a real pain, though :mefiant:), QoL features (skipping cutscenes and end-of-level sequences is especially nice), and easy modes accessibility options, and this is shaping up to be the de facto definitive edition of Rayman Origins! And once again, this comes bundled with Rayman Legends Retold, so you're essentially getting two of the best 2D platformers out there for the price of one! Ubisoft might be a super greedy and scummy company, but they have their moments, and this is absolutely one of them. :mryellow:

50 standees :o ! If they don't include the variants that existed in Rayman Designer onwards it's a missed opportunity.

Rayman Origins is a great game but after playing Legends a lot and going back to it, the controls have always felt very finnicky and unresponsive. I hope they update them to be more like Legends here, unless it breaks the game somehow.
