Yeah it's pretty impressive just how close Adventures sticks to this original idea from a few years earlier. :P

I don't know if they intended for this to be made into a mobile game from the moment it was scrapped, but I think they generally try to reuse old cut ideas and assets whenever possible. They tried to bring the hook/lasso power from Rayman 2 2D back in Rayman 2 3D and RRR, mounts/rideable creatures in R2 2D, RRR and Legends, the microscopic world from Rayman Origins (and the swamp world from Legends) in Rayman Mini... this might be a similar situation.

I'm glad that this was cut from Legends, because I think this would have had a bad impact on the level design. If you can pick a creature that gives you 4HP, gives you flying punches or the ability to suck in lums, and take it to any random level, then that would mean the levels had to be designed around that. I think the levels wouldn't have been as fun, and the balance would have been all over the place. Kind of like it is in Adventures already where lum collection levels suck if you don't play them with an Inhaler, or you can't take certain shortcuts in speed challenges if you don't bring a Protector with you. So I'm glad that they decided to limit that to its own game.

Really interesting find Droolie, thanks for sharing! While I agree that it's probably a good thing they scrapped it from the final game, it is really insightful to see how most of those mechanics ended up in Rayman Adventures. Everything gets recycled in the Rayman series.

i mean it could've been cool if we had it but i guess ol' Ubi$oft just decided to cut it for some reason..

Well, Droolie articulated some very good reasons for cutting it above, so I think the vitriol against the company is unwarranted in this case...

heyy everyone.. so i wanted to dig into the game's sprites specifically for the button gylphs and controller tutorials (i did find some controller sprites on The Sprite Resources), the only things i'm looking for is ps4 and xbox one button gylphs, including PS3 button gylphs and it's controller tutorial, i'm sorry if that seemed bold of me to ask but i was just wondering here if anybody here had the button gylphs for PS4 and Xbox one, and the controller tutorial and button gylphs for the one on PS3.

and about that "Rayman Legends Retold" leak.. i know the logo is real n stuff, but what about the skins? people have been arguing about it saying it's AI, while others are saying is real (i definitely know the key art is AI), but i need a bunch of confirmation before buying, also what're y'alls thoughts on legends retold after the leaks spreaded out?

The key art is real, is just horrendous upscaled.
All the skins other than the Rayman 3 one are AI.

As far as I know, most of the skin leaks are absolutely AI-generated. The only one I'm not sure of is the Heavy Metal Fist one; that was the first to leak, and it matches up with the light redesign Nate described, but it very well could still be AI.

Have you looked in the Rayman Assets Archive?

Pretty sure the general consensus right now is that the main key art and the Heavy Metal Fist render are legit, but the other random screenshots floating around are fake. 🥸

If you want to catch up on everyone's thoughts and see the full breakdown, we've actually been discussing the whole thing over in this topic!

I remember watching a YouTube video that was auto-dubbed that said Rayman Legends was an unfinished game with tons of cut content and worlds, and on the pirate forum I remember a post where someone looked into the original game files and found unused assets and names for many worlds if i remmber corectly there was a cut pirate world, a cut jungle/forest world, Land of the Living Dead, a Gothic castle world and an East Asian inspired world called Crouching Huns. do you think retold well add them

I have a question, perhaps some of you here have a fresher memory about Rayman Legends Definitive Edition on Nintendo Switch. Can anyone here remember well what were the main differences from this to the standard versions of the game? I might pick up my capture card and make coverage videos of those unique features but I can't remember entirely what make it stand apart from the others (the last time I played it was in pre-pandemic).

Hi Haruka, nice seeing you around. :)

The RayWiki article has a section on it:

Should be as accurate as any external source...

I had checked earlier and my main doubt was concerning what were the exclusive skins from this port, unless they match the Wii U ones. I guess it's something I can have a look later.

EDIT: Well, shoot: the Murfy's Touch segment is portable-exclusive, I now remember. I have no means to capture image directly this way. :oops2:

I know someone might've said this before since i aint too active on the pirate community, but i'll give out differences that i found

- Murfy has green fumes all over him now (it's barely noticeable) at the ending of the intro cutscene
- Console and pre-order exclusive characters are now unlocked by default (basically pre-bundled when you first install the game)
- Title screen has a new background that resembles from Olympus Maximus, with the word "Definitive Edition" being slapped onto the Rayman Legends logo
- Loading Screens are brought back, this time even longer (15 seconds to jump into a level/challenge)
- Achievements are removed (and there is no custom-made painting for said achievements)
- Wii U versions of each Paintings can now be optionally played as the painting "Murfy's Touch" (which is unlocked after you complete Once upon a Time iirc?), Docked play cannot use the Wii U paintings.
- 4 player co-op (was 5 on Wii U)
- 720p 60FPS on Handheld play, 1080p 60FPS on Docked play.
- And lastly, A new mode for Kung Foot, which is named "Kung Foot Tournament".

that's Basically the only differences i found whilist playing definitive edition.

I had uploaded two videos a few days ago that cover mostly the menu and main gallery. However, it seems to me that the only way to demonstrate a level from "Murfy's Touch" is by recording with a camera pointed to the screen. Not the best option but it's what it is. Thanks for checking out anyway!
