Re: Rayman 3 Film Discussion

Post by Kiza/Raybox »

Hello, RPC people! In the recent days I've been wondering: what if Rayman 3 film existed?
You might be asking - why not putting this thought in Rayman 3 forum topic? The answer is I wanna make some drafts for the film in case someone wants to make one (as in animating it). It all started with the video-opinion about Rayman 3 cutsenes. It's pretty positive, may I tell you. After I told my opinion I QUICKLY GOT THIS IDEA - the idea of Rayman film existing. Maybe, just maybe one day it will make it to us. I want the film to have the same vibe Rayman 3 has, the same graphics the game has or the graphics cutscenes have. And I wanna know your opinion on its existense. Yeah.

I might post some updates related to the film and its topic. Maybe I'll be doing it today, I dunno, heh. :)

Edit: The first update of this topic is here... I just cooked it. Now I want you to rate this from 1 to 10 and tell me what to fix, delete or add.
Here you all go!

Well, it is only the concept I made back in the day. I'm still thinking of how the events will go after this piece of script I made. I still imagine it having R3 models animated. Though I really suck at animating, let alone doing so in 3D, I'm not that bad at writing the script (not sure though)
Glad you got interested by the fan project of my own mind! Soooo how about you rate this piece? (The script piece!)

Well, Rayman 3 had the most story of any mainline game, especially before they cut some of it (like the Wooglah stuff), so it's probably the best choice for a Rayman movie!

Thanks for the opinion! I'm thinking of continuing my work on its script, might show it someday. The pieces of my script are free to use and intepret as long as I am credited! In case someone wants to make a video about it at the very least...

Alright, here's the addition I promised!
The changes I made in the script + new dialogues

Not sure if I did well this time, so the feedback is appreciated here. Thank you for supporting the project's beginnings! :D

This is a great start for a script! Using the Dream Forest as a setting is a nice touch, it gives it that classic atmosphere that I really miss from the newer games.

For some constructive feedback, I think Murfy feels a bit too polite here! Since this is based on the Rayman 3 era, he definitely needs some of that sarcastic, fourth-wall-breaking sass he is famous for. 🐸

Also, the dialogue is a little bit stiff in a few places. Maybe try to make Rayman and Globox's banter feel a bit more chaotic and snappy like it was in Hoodlum Havoc. The hook at the end with the mysterious feminine silhouette is a good cliffhanger though! 🕵️‍♂️

Keep working on it, I want to see where this goes! 👊

Thanks for the feedback. Unfortunately I'm being quite brief most of the time and don't notice it well, so thanks for pointing this out. I think I make people really polite brcause of my own politeness acting up, so I'll do my best to fix it somehow.

Good luck finishing that movie ;)
If you have cash you can hire somebody to animate, just like in movies.
Also movies take a LONG time to finish...

Hm... Film about Rayman 3. It's really good idea. If it can be real, I really will try look at that. Or somehow help. (I'm like to writing something) (But I can't make it absolutely true)

Thanks for offering, but I can handle the script myself. Still, thank you for the support. Also, I'm not sure when I will continue working on the concept as a whole but I'll be looking forward to make it grow

UPDATE TIME!! :!:

Here is the updated version of the script we get so far.

The mystery factor is still here... somehow?
Anyway, since I want Raybox to be involved, I'll have to retcon his origins to the prank happening after R3 games (the film events happen close to autumn) which means my 3 AUs will have to be retconed because of that. But should I REALLY risk Raybox's origin or should I leave it be? I'm still pondering about it... :?

Anyway! The first storyboard might be in development soon and I'm thinking which part of the script to choose... :oops2:
What do you think? :D

This script seems pretty good so far! I'm particularly intrigued by the mysterious character near the end of it; a feminine figure with glowing green eyes. Could this be Ly the Fairy? Whether it is or not, what would she want with a butterfly's wing? You're off to a solid start so far, Kiza, and I'm interested to see where this goes next! :)

Now that I think about it, I don't think I've seen your explanation for Raybox being a separate character yet. I'd like to read about it if you'd care to share it!

As for working Raybox into this... well, this might seem like an easy or cliché option, but what if he somehow showed up from the future to help Rayman? Maybe his future has been ruined by whatever new villain this is, and he's gone to the past to give the Glade a second chance at being saved? Might sound a bit overdone (Dragon Ball and Sonic the Hedgehog have already done it before), but hey, it's just an idea. :hap:

I don't think I am ready to contact him yet. The script and the storyboards aren't even ready, I'm still working on them.
As for Raybox's origins, where should I put them? Here or in the separate topic of Rayman Fanworks? I just don't wanna get in trouble for accidentally violating rules, y'know...

Great work on the update! 👏

Murfy is already feeling much more in character. The line about them being "DEAD asleep" is exactly the kind of snark I was hoping for. I also really liked the tension building up outside the tent.

Regarding your question about retconning Raybox's origin: if the Raybox prank fits in naturally later on without distracting from the main mystery, then go for it, but don't force it if it messes up your AU lore too much!

Keep it up! 😊
