I think Rayman actually looks pretty decent here, He has a bit more of an extracted expression, And idw if its just me but he kinda looks like the SOH design here

Uhh... okay...

How come this depiction of Rayman always looks better in-game (during gameplay and in pre-rendered cutscenes) compared to his promo art? I don't know why, but something about his expression here just looks unnatural to me. Maybe I'll warm up to it as I look at it more, but right now this is probably my least favorite official render of Retold Rayman. :oops2:

I'm not a huge fan of it, but I've got to admit that it allows for more expressiveness.

I really think they overdid it with the eye sockets.

Ubisoft posted an article for Kung Foot Evo on their blog! Not much to write home about on the forum, but I figure it's worth a read nonetheless.

Honestly, I think Rayman looks fine here! His eyes might look a little deep with the now clear bridge between them, but he really doesn't look bad to me. I really like that they're letting him keep his exaggerated expressions.

He looks fine to me; his skin might be a bit more reddish-pink than I remember, but as far as I'm concerned he's still the same Luchador. :)

Also, what video you find that model from? If there's any other character models they show off there, I'd love to see them!

I think it fits the game's art style pretty well!

Well, they already did a really good job with that on Rayman's evil clones, so why not! :hap:

Anyhoo, I see the minimum system requirements on Steam include a 7th-gen Intel Core processor, so I'm not sure where that leaves me with my i7-4790K… I wonder if it actually uses newer instructions or if they're just talking about general performance…

Also, Shrek in Teensies in Trouble might need to go in my collection!

Rayman's official X/Twitter account just posted something! Hopefully it's the bio I've been waiting o-
Retold has been boarded.jpg
Oh. It's always Assassin's Creed, isn't it?

(Yeah, I know this is just meant to promote the Black Flag remake, but I'm under the impression that this means we're not getting the character bio today. Also this would have been the perfect opportunity to at least tease Assassin Ray and/or Avelina coming back in Retold, but hey, what do I know? :|)

Guess Ubisoft isn't as stupid as I thought, as Assassin Ray has just been revealed as our first returning skin in Rayman Legends Retold! It looks like they went with the normal hair used in his PS3 design rather than the yellow hair featured in every other iteration of the character. Because why stop the lore reversal at names? :fou2:

So now this begs the question: with Assassin Ray returning, does that mean that the other Ubisoft-themed skins (Avelina, Splinter Ray, Glob Cell, Ray Vaas, Far Glob/Glovaas, Ray of Persia, I guess Funky Ray, and Champion Ray) will return as well? As far as I'm concerned, the more new and returning skins we can get in this game, the better! :D

Fingernails....very um...interesting.
Next thing we know, they'll give Rayomz very realistic toenails too.

Note how "Assassin Ray" is no longer described as a character with his own background, but just as a skin for Rayman:
Fret not, the Edward Kenway skin will return in Rayman Legends Retold!
In the mean time, be sure to dive into the pirate fantasy in AC Black Flag Resynced ☠️
I believe this will be the case for all skins in the game, which I think is an improvement over the way they were described in the previous games.

I did notice that, and personally I always liked the idea of almost all of the skins being their own characters. I will say it did get a bit egregious with a few of the Rayman Adventures characters (e.g. Globeach, Glombrero, Freeze Ray, Ray-Mas), but it wasn't enough for me to want them to ax the idea altogether. Each skin being a separate character allowed me to give them their own personalities and quirks, a trait that made using them in Legends and outside of the game a bit more fun. I'll probably share some of these "character expansions" on my fanworks page sometime soon if you guys are interested. :)

For my money, I think they'll keep the Teensy and Barbara skins as their own characters in Retold, but I'm not so sure about the Rayman and Globox ones. At the very least, I would expect Raymesis and Glombrox to stay distinct, and I think Raymolk and Globolk have different enough appearances to stay as their own characters, but the rest of them could honestly be a toss-up.

As far as I'm concerned, regardless of whether it's a separate character or not, a returning skin is a returning skin, and I'll take as many of those as I can get. However, at least for me, it will be kind of sad to see this trait go if they do that in the final game. :?

Oh, and as for the fingernail thing, I don't really have a strong opinion on it one way or the other. If Raymolk and Rayomz do come back, then realistic toenails are probably coming with them, so brace yourselves for that.
