Grolgoth Salesman

Post by Etch »

The being who sells the Grolgoth to Razorbeard. What is he? Who is he? I am told he is Burk from Tonic Trouble, but this is improbable because they are only similar in coloration, and Burk was a jock, not a general.

Perhaps this was an agent of Mr.Dark? Or perhaps he was indeed Burk after a promotion of sorts.
Has anyone seen him anywhere else? Does anyone have official art of him? any theories?

According to the storyline, he's just a private messenger.

He looks like characters in Tonic trouble, but I have never played this game, so I can't really tell.

I believe he was from Tonic Trouble... Ancel actually loves to hide his characters from other games in places.

And he's hidden Ed in Beyond Good and Evil... in a starkos ad if you keep watching the tv's inside of room between tracks 1 and 2.

The salesman closely resembles Super Ed, as does the second mask:

Wow, I never thought of that while I was playing the game! Maybe I had tonic trouble after I bought Rayman 2.

Guys, is that picture of the general from tonic trouble or rayman.... He's in the opening cinematic in tonic trouble.... If he is the salesman in rayman 2, (i havent got to the grolgoth yet) then he is definitely in tonic trouble... I think his name is XYZ.

Yes, the first pic is of the salesman.
The second pic is of Super Ed.
The third is of the second mask in Rayman 2.

Ahh...that slalesman had a speaking role as the general XYZ in the pc version of tonic trouble. That's the wierdest crossover ever....i never thought he'd turn evil...wait a minute! I just checked wikipedia-XYZ betrays tonic to sell something to the villain grogh at some point! Now it makes sense!

Um... guys... if you do a bit of research...

Tonic Trouble was made first.

Rayman 2 was made after.

Tonic Trouble was released AFTER Rayman 2 for reasons unknown... thought right now so that it wasn't to take any hype away from Rayman 2's release.

I have always thought that Tonic Trouble was a try for Michel Ancel anyway :)

It would still make sense now... Can't believe that it's such an obvious cameo... The fact that the character appears AS a character.
