< may take advantage of his Presario V3000's warranty; the speakers just died on me today. < tried several tests on them, no sound, no nothing. (It isn't a HP HID problem either.) < would have to use the headphone port to hear any sound.

< noticed that as well as <'s VU gauge on the desktop might be disconnected from the motherboard, may not function anymore, or whatever.
