What don't you know?
Re: Windows, Mac or Linux?
Just a difference in colour and not in performance or graphics?. I don't really see the point, though. Dish out more money just for the same console, but a different colour?

Re: Windows, Mac or Linux?

I just saw it in OXM, June 2007. It is a black console with a matching controller. It comes with a black 120GB hard drive (standard color 120GB hard drives to be standalone soon) and an HDMI port.

in other words, stuff has become cooler.
Re: Windows, Mac or Linux?
I suppose with it having more memory is a reason to buy it.

I don't care about more memory. I just want a wii.
Re: Windows, Mac or Linux?
Nintendo Wii are cool, but they do have a few problems.

Name one that would make sure you don't buy it.

Yes, all the difference in tech specs is an extra 100GB of space to boot and an HDMI outlet if you want to use it. (Or can.)

Re: Windows, Mac or Linux?

I'd still get the Elite though, personally. (If I had the choice.)

Re: Windows, Mac or Linux?
The Wii remote has problems occasionaly. Sometimes it takes ages to pick up a signal, and the remotes run on batteries, which means you have to keep replacing them. Plus, if you were in the middle of a boss fight and you remote ran out of battery, you would not be able to pause the game, and you would be buggered.

Re: Windows, Mac or Linux?
true, but that's not reason to not buy a wii.
Re: Windows, Mac or Linux?
I suppose so. If you can put up with some of it's issues, the Wii is great.

Re: Windows, Mac or Linux?
Has anyone already updated to Windows 11? Apparently it is very close to feeling Mac OS-like, according to some reviews.

Re: Windows, Mac or Linux?
Oh wow, according to the poll I'm the only Linux user!
But I'm guessing mine is the first vote in fifteen years!
I've seen some screenshots of Windows 11, and they certainly look Mac OS-like. I guess at work we'll have to "upgrade" at some point, but all those requirements for TPM and Secure Boot make it extremely unlikely that I'll ever install it on any machine of mine!

The TPM thing is annoying to some people and seen as a forced upgrade because they have otherwise capable hardware even from a decade ago, but they just don't support TPM so they end up having to buy a new computer, or else switch to Linux.PluMGMK wrote: Sun Sep 18, 2022 11:03 am I've seen some screenshots of Windows 11, and they certainly look Mac OS-like. Re: Windows, Mac or Linux?
Well, many applications of the TPM are about taking control away from the user, so it's not really an "upgrade" to have it in my book…
