I guess the metric system of made because it was easier to convert from centimeter to meter to kilometer, only move the decimal left or right depending on the prefix.

It could be. I don't know. But Celcius is the best temperature in my opinion because it's the temperature of water when it freezes and boils. That's just me.

That's what it was based on ^^ However, the celsius scale isn't used in physics because double temperature doesn't mean twice as hot.

How does that work? I think it's Kelvin that's used, and it's basically celcius, except 0 is the lowest temperature physically possible.

There no possible lowest temperature. Things can get colder than freezing.

Hmmm, let's take -5 Celsius and double it, we get -10 C, which is colder, not hotter.

I guess?

Yeah. And there is a possible lowest temperature. It's about -370 Celcius. That is also known as 0 Kelvin. I don't know the Fahrenheit temperature, though.

For the amount of text, yes. I'd suggest you use that for huge messages. Not smallish ones.
