Battle Royale

I kind of haven't been that active recently. It was mostly because I was reading this book called Battle Royale, and I just finished it. I thought it was the best novel I had ever read. Well anyways I was wondering if anyone else has read it, if so, what do you think of it. Or if you have seen the movie or its sequel, tell me if it is good.

What is the book about?

A class of 42 students in japan (who are all really good friends) get sent to an island where they are supposed to participate against their will in a government program. There they are told to kill off each other. It is really depressing.

Sounds pretty horrific.

I do remember that kind of plot summary from an Asian movie on VCD, so I do know what it is--I've never watched it though. (I've been told that the movie was good though.

It sounds a bit like the book, "the lord of the flies"

A friend of mine watched the movie, and he told me it rocked.

I heard it was quite harsh. Apparently, the group ate the fattest person there.

I would like to watch it, but it is all in japanese.

There are subtitle's you know.

I know, but I like them to speak English.

I only do if that is the language that it was filmed in. It looks weird if it isn't.

Is there an English version?
