Re: Off Topic

It's nice--having paid only that much for those parts.

Re: Off Topic
Despite the high price, I think it was a good deal!
Re: Off Topic
Anything that can play Oblivion without framerate issues is a good deal.
Re: Off Topic
Yeah, more than a good deal man

The oblivion graphics put many video cards through much pain.

Re: Off Topic

GeForce 8 graphics on a notebook--I wish I had that. Mine has Intel GMA. Just as budget and crappy as it sounds. (GMA 950, to be specific.) It has a rough time with old games even. Unreal Tournament 2003 doesn't quite play optimally (which is bad considering the pace of the game and quick flicks of the mouse you have to make before the other guy to kill him before he kills you) and slows down with many objects and explosions. Unreal Tournament 2004 lags real bad, and I couldn't stand it. At least it does UT99 well...

Re: Off Topic
They say that some games on the PS3 even experience lag in some places.

Re: Off Topic

Right--the PoS3 though didn't even use a 7900 series-based card. It was cheap, a 7800GTX, that won't hold up to advancing technology unlike the Xbox360's. Sony has to learn that many console gamers don't care about high performance since you don't buy a console to upgrade it... (The GeForce 8 series had a lot of new features--that thing's already falling back) Sony must also remember that graphics card(s) are the most important parts of a gaming machine--I like the six-core 3.2GHz processor, though what's the use of the mega processing power if your graphics card can't keep up?

Re: Off Topic
So the PS3 Graphics card is already out of date?

Re: Off Topic

Console manufacturers usually tune it up more so it can handle more--Sony didn't even do much of that though, and the PoS3 is going to rely on its processing power. Processors can help hold a game up, though they can't do all the work. I predict a bad future for it...

Re: Off Topic
Hopefully with the combined good enough card and decent processor, it should be able to handle. I hope so, because I was planning on getting one.

Re: Off Topic

You seem like quite the fickle kind of guy...

Re: Off Topic
I guess I am. I change my mind often.
Re: Off Topic
If I were you I wouldn't buy a PS3 go for the 360.
Re: Off Topic
I might. It's a hard decision.

Re: Off Topic

The Xbox360 has better games, graphics, HD-DVD support (better than paying up for Blu-Ray), hard disks up to 120GB (over the PoS3's North American and European maximum of 60GB right now), and many other advantages. It's likely that sometime soon (maybe) I'll have a 360 accompanying my Dreamcast and Super Nintendo. (Need yet another power strip though to.) It's $500 after a price drop (they're so cheap) and the most advanced 360 model (the black 360 Elite) is still less.

Re: Off Topic
I'm getting a Wii, because its fun, I don't care about the graphics. ^^

Re: Off Topic

Yes, and it is still half as much as the PoS3. It's the experience, not the technology that matters. (Unless you're PC gaming.) I may just get a 360 to support it.

Re: Off Topic
Yeah, I would wait though for the Elite's price to drop a bit more, or I would buy it ASAP and pre-order Halo 3 this instant.foultzboyz wrote:
