Pirate-Community for phpBB3?

Post by Newray »

As you all may know, the developers from this phpBB system have almost finished their work on the first stable release for the next generation of forum software, phpBB3! So I was wondering, is PC ever going to convert to this new generation of phpBB? I know this is a heavy modified board, but with some time and patience, converting the mods wouldn't be impossible to do. You should all give the system a try on phpBB.com. You'll like what you see!

It might be a nice idea, but the site will be closed, wouldn't it?

I wish RZ would have a phpBB3 makeover on it.

We've been working on transferring PC to phpBB3 for a few weeks. I am developing the last mods now ;)

Wow it's good to hear that! Do you have any potential release date or just some thoughts on how long it will take?

Well, they have to finish the last of the mods and then it should be done.

Ooh! Ooh! Can I be a mod?

Just kidding, just showing the effects of using the same abbreviation for two totally different words.

So, you think you can give us a preview of what the forums will look like?

This summer I'll go on holiday with friends to Paris and Munich and with my family to Tunisia, which means I won't be here from the end of the month to late August. I hope the phpBB3 version of PC will be released before I leave, which means, by a few days.

PC will be using a temporary phpBB3 template, and if you're interested in the new features, you can look for phpBB3 forums on the internet ;)

I guess if you are gonna have to change the layout, I would really miss the current layout.

Yeah, when I came here, I expected more of a Phbb1 layout.

Actually, that was what I was expecting. :?
