now admittedly the boxes are a hoax put together by the stores to sell the game...but why put RAYMAN in there? He's not related to either sega or nintendo, he's not even from the same COUNTRY. XD
No, if there was another third party character it would've been Sonic but, it has already told by the makers that Snake is the only third party character.
Putting Rayman in SSBB would actually be a good idea. But since we were told Snake will be the only third party character, I'm afraid this is just an 'interesting' fake.
No offense, but Rayman seems a pretty insignificant character compared to, say, Sonic for example. And since even a popular character like Sonic's set for a no-show, the likelihood of Rayman being in there is practically nonexistant.
I personally believe that Rayman deserves a spot in the Super Smash Brothers franchise. Maybe not Brawl, but perhaps a future SSB game. He's been around a decent amount of time, and would make a very interesting character in terms of fighting. Nintendo and Ubisoft could give Rayman unique powers just for the SSB game.
Even my own boyfriend has a great idea of what his "Final Smash" move would be. It'd be like a combination of all his canister moves from Rayman 3. Knowing how creative both Nintendo and Ubisoft are, they could pull that off. His basic attacks would consist of the attacks from Rayman 2, Rayman 3, and even Raving Rabbids. The Basic moves would be of him throwing his fists and his shoes (Punch/Kick attacks). In terms of range attacks, it'd be his energy spheres, which he can either shoot one after another in small sizes, or charge up for a larger and more damaging one. Or he could have another ranged attack with the plunger gun, needing to hold and aim long enough for it to go a certain range.
He can also launch his fist at an enemy to grab them, pull them closer to him, and pound him a bit until he automatically lets go, or the enemy fights back. In terms of hovering, it'd simply be his helicopter hair that he can use either after his first jump, or double jump, lasting about 5 seconds until he gets tired. And believe we ALL know what his taunt would be. Watch out for that six-foot tongue of his, people!
His multi-outfit selection is pretty predictable as well, using his different canister outfits from Rayman 3, or even a "Dark Rayman" skin like in the Gamecube/XBox version of Rayman Arena.
I think that with all this being said, Rayman is actually pretty set up for an appearance in the SSB franchise. All that's left is for Ubisoft and Nintendo to discuss it.
Now, if you'll excuse me.... *Runs off before people who disagree maul her*
