Re: Important Information

For a minute I thought the now 'overally useless' RZ forum lost all of it's content again, but this time Ubi actually 'tried' to deal with a backup. I don't really care though, since none of the topics are really interesting these days (like 'the real' Xei said). Only the general chat topic, the tavern, and sometimes an ask-for-help topic in the hints & tips forum could be interesting. None of the real RZ members give a damn about the other topics, you know the reason if you browse through the topic list. So yeah, I still see that the KRZK got seriously owned this time, as we still have our few interesting topics and nobody really cares about what's going on on there..

While RZ may still have its interesting topics, a lot of RZ's history of the third age is gone. (It's the third right?? fourth?? I dunno...)

Many topics we posted in are gone for good yes, but the real history of RZ was gone for good a long time ago when the 2003/2004 forums were hacked by ARZO. And what more, we don't even update the RZ forum documentary thus nobody really cares as much as we did back in the days.

I know, mostly it's been flooding with noobs asking how to actually run RRR, usually in the wrong topics. If I were stuck on the game, and perhaps any game, the first place I'd look up is GameFAQs, while official forums would be a last resort. I can't believe someone doesn't know how to delete a saved file. :tssk: And yes, very agreed, only a few topics had been interesting for me to talk in, while the rest is just the same old "hey is RRR2 on xbox 360?" and shit.

Nothing has ever been done to improve RZ, so no wonder it's become less and less interesting for years. PC is certainly not a perfect forum, but we've always been working on new projects to make the community more friendly.

My bosses have been trying to come up with activities we could do at RZ, but since they are in command of other forums as well, it's difficult to get the ideas high on the priority list. They ARE trying though.

(I’ll just insert my two cents on that subject, because I had some unoriginal ideas rushing trough my head. Ignore me if it’s stupid/annoying/whatever.)

Contests? :B
No, seriously, a short story contest maybe, or a drawing contest, or both. Or, more like a challenge. Maybe they could have something once a month or every second month, you know, like, at the beginning of the month a theme would be announced, and then the members could have till the end of the month to make a text, drawing, screenmanip or whatever else to fit that theme, with characters from Rayman of course. D: Duh.
Judging could be done by... err... someone qualified, who didn't participate. Preferably more than one judge, but it takes time to look trough everything. There shouldn't be voting, at least not so people could see what there has been voted, as in, say, a poll, because certain members could go; "zomg nobody voted fer me~?" *cries and slits wrist*
Prizes: Pride and honour and maybe a pixel medal to put in your sig, lawl.
There's a lot of creative Rayman fans on the forums, I think people would participate.
On the other hand, if some takes this to seriously, which might happen, since some of the people I've encountered at those forums are just people I imagine could be like that, there might be some bashing, which is why there shouldn’t really be a prize for the winners. It should be lighthearted, just for fun.

Another idea is “quote” contests, like, once a month/week or something there’s a Rayman related screenshot/image released, and the members come up with quotes to go with the image. Then there could be voting, or no voting at all, since this doesn’t have to be a contest. They could come up with quotes just for fun.

Well, do whatever you want with those. ^^;

Great ideas, Limely :) We once started a Contest Topic at PC but it wasn't very successful. Maybe we could think about a new contest :)

Yeah that would be a great idea and it may also bring some old members back to PC..

And LOL, I'm fired from the RZ mod team, I unbanned Matt because I found his ban unfair and beleive it or not, ms-kleaneasy totally disagreed. :P

Re: Important Information

I'm not sure, but I think Matt was banned because he posted in 'locked topics' right after the KRZK hack. Thus an admin decided to perma-ban his account and ban his IP because that was against the terms of use. But if you read the terms of use, there's nothing that says something like 'you may not post in locked topics, doing so will result directly in a perma-ban'.. Because of that, I decided to unban him but the admins totally disagreed and removed my mod powers and treatened to ban me if I keep going on like that..

Because of all that, I don't even care about being a moderator at RZ. They're taking their job way too seriously and have in no way feeling for the community. A forum isn't like politics. I say you can do anything on the net if it matches with social terms. Why ban a nice and friendly member for such a silly reason who actually does what a loyal community member has to do and ban a moderator who disagreed with an admin? And what more, even Xei was fired from the mod team for somewhat exactly the same reason. Those nazi mods and admins just don't show the real community spirit..

So Luckster, I'm afraid you have to do it on your own now. Good luck anyways!
