Rayman: Raving Rabbids 2
The time has come to make a Raving Rabbids 2 board, although I'm sure many of you have upset stomachs about the idea of Raving Rabbids having a sequal.
I saw a board on the RZ forums about the upcoming game, so I felt there is much need for a topic be open for discussion here as well.
Is anyone here besides me even buying the game....uh oh...I better explain...
*Puts up a protective shield real quick before speaking*
I have a FULLY PAID reservation on the Rayman: Raving Rabbids 2 game. *Dodges projectiles*
I'm buying it not only for the fact that I found the first game to be somewhat entertaining...
*dodges flying knives*
...but it's for research! If Rayman doesn't have enough of a part in this game for his name to be on the title, Ubisoft will be receiving the longest complaint letter they've ever received...in a BOX!
*Finally safe for a moment*
I plan to write a very long and detailed complaint to the Ubisoft company if the Rabbids 2 game fails to deliver enough Rayman for his name to be on the cover. At least when the previews of the first game were coming out, it was quite obvious he was in it. I dunno about you, but out of all the preview videos of the new Rabbids game, I've only seen Rayman a total of two times. One was in the customization screen, and the other just showed his hand. Not even the Rabbids 2 DS commercial shows Rayman (I have a $5 reservation on that too...but I'm gonna let that one rot after what I've seen).
I will always prefer the original Rayman 1-3 concept and characters (Even though Ancel didn't work on R3) over the Rabbids, despite the fact that I do find them to be somewhat cute, when they're not screaming, which seems to be quite the rare occasion.
Rabbids comes out at my Gamestop on November 13th, and I plan to arrive there near opening time to pick it up, giving me the whole day to play it and review it. I will be very strict on how I review this game, similar to how Adam and Morgan do on X-play (For those that watch the channel known as G4). I will be nit-picking every detail and in terms of a scoring system, it will be out of 5 stars.
I will never consider myself a Rabbids fan. I admit they're cute, but because they ruined the limbless hero's reputation, for me to call myself a Rabbid fan would be a disgrace. Rayman has come across mutants made from magic, Robot Pirates, Hoodlums and the Knaaren people of his world, one being souped up by the power of their own god, Leptys. And yet, Ubisoft has forced many younger Rayman fans to believe that he could easily be captured by a flock of Bunnies with ADD.
Me buying the new game is strictly for research and a little harmless entertainment.
Do not disown me for my decision. For those that wish to read my review on the game when the time comes, it will be on my DeviantART Journal either November 13th, or November 14th. It'll all depend on how long it takes for me to complete the Story Mode of Rabbids 2. (The last time I played the whole first Rabbids game in one day, I tore out the muscles in my arm and almost had to see a doctor about it.)
*Feels that is now safe to take down the shield*
Are any of you also getting the new game? Will you also review it as I will?

No.
The first one was dissapointing for me. Even if I didn't buy it, I got it for free.
RRR2 looks much like RRR, and I didn't find it entertaining, I had a headache after the story mode, I was angry, and my fingers got hurt. I don't need that again.

Re: Rayman: Raving Rabbids 2
Thank you very much. *nods* I put a lot of thought in my post.
Re: Rayman: Raving Rabbids 2
Just picked up the game and am currently going through the USA"Trip". The minigames are pretty fun so far and the opening cutscene is drop dead hilarious, but just wanted to point three things out:
A) At least in the US region, a render of Rayman with a wiimote and plunger-gun is the most prominent thing on the back of the box
B) In the Manual there is a code to replace all of the rabbids with Rayman clones though I haven't tried it yet
C) The 3 high score owners for each minigame belong to Globox, Betilla, and Murphy respectively.
If the code does work, this game will include more Rayman presence than the original RRR.

Re: Rayman: Raving Rabbids 2
I think they REALLY murdered Rayman in this game. I will admit that it's a pretty fun game, but Ubisoft could have at least had Rayman behave differently than the Rabbids.
Re: Rayman: Raving Rabbids 2
Yeah that really bugged the crap out of me that the developers were too lazy to give Rayman different animations/sounds.

Re: Rayman: Raving Rabbids 2
Responce to someone's complaints on another site:
I was very disappointed with what Ubisoft did to Rayman. It's really not THAT difficult to make one character behave differently than the others. I checked myself. Every movement and reaction Rayman made in any/all of the Minigame intros/outros is the same thing the Rabbids do. They could have at least given him his voice. Last time I checked, Helium effects your vocal chords only for a few minutes.
The minigames, however, really weren't that bad. They weren't nearly as repetitive as the ones in the first game. If they're making your arm hurt, you're not holding the Wii-mote right. I'm able to play two hours without problems.
There are a few positive points with this game, despite the fact that it's the final nail in Rayman's coffin.
The animation, for one thing, is a bit more fluid. Of course, that's to be expected in new games. I really like how nice the game intro turned out, though the fact that there's no ending in sight bugs me. So Rayman stays on Earth forever, joining in on the Rabbid's chaos??? *shakes head* Anyways....
A lot of the minigames are funner than the last one, and since I've played all of them, it makes me wish I had more friends to hang out and play with for this game. A few of the games even were even quite in-character for Rayman, which at this point is rare. Let's see....the plate-balancing one I think is in character. He's the kind to show off and have fun at the same time. I think the burp one is half in-character. He'd never do that on purpose, but if it were to slip out, he'd be quite proud of himself and probably challenge Globox to beat him at that. There are more, but I've only played the game twice now, so I don't have all the minigames memorized.
I think they chose much nicer songs for the music games in this one. It really takes me back (brought up on the same music as my parents). I keep playing one of them over and over in the Plaza not only to watch Rayman dance, but because I love the song.
Game-wise, I give this game a 3/5. It's a good game, but it makes you feel lonely when you have no one else to play with, or have only own one wii-mote.
Rayman-wise I give this game a 1/5. It just doesn't deserve to have Rayman's name on the title or for him to be in it if he's just another Rabbid.
That's all I have to say for now.

Re: Rayman: Raving Rabbids 2
Raving Rabbids 2... Somehow, seeing that game makes me a bit sad. As an actual party game, RRR2 wasn't bad. But yes, it does make you feel rather lonely when no one else is with you (but the Wii itself is more fun with more people). And as you said, it just doesn't really deserve to be a Rayman title. But why does it make me feel sad? It just reminds me of Rayman's dying state. Sometimes I actually think this is the end of him. It seems that the Rabbids are just too popular now... But maybe the not-so-great reviews by critiques will get Ubisoft back on track.... Maybe.... But I've held Rayman close for many years now. He has some of my memories in him. And seeing him go... is kind of like seeing a part of me go. Ugh, I'm a bit too expressional.
I really hope that Ancel will lead the development in Rayman 4. It makes me feel rather upset now when I see the real Raving Rabbids trailer. I wish they kept it as a platformer. That would be cool. I don't mind if Ubisoft continues the Rabbid series, as long as Rayman gets his old gaming style as well. It would seem like a miracle if Ubisoft separated the two of them.

Re: Rayman: Raving Rabbids 2
Chances are, either Ubisoft will make another poor quality Rabbids game, or Ancel will be working on a Rayman 4 game, or nothing will happen at all. not much choice is happening. If Ancel works on a Rayman 4, I hope he takes his sweet time on it. Even if it takes three years or longer to develop, as long as it turns out to be a totally badass and epic game to make up for the last two Rabbid titles, I won't care. I just want a real Rayman game sometime in the future.

Re: Rayman: Raving Rabbids 2
Same here... I just hope this isn't the end of Rayman. I believe that Ancel cares very much about what is happening to his creation (hopefully). But he'll probably work on BG&E2 first before Rayman 4 (if he ever creates one).

Re: Rayman: Raving Rabbids 2
The game isn't creative at all, not like the last game. All they did was spoof movies and they were racist to Rayman!
While the Rabbids can have a number of 63 costume, Rayman only gets 9 freaking and non-spoofist (they should've had a Spider-Ray costume) costume set.

Re: Rayman: Raving Rabbids 2
I couldn't agree any more with you. I must say - I was completely furious when I found out Rayman only had nine costumes. It seems the Rabbids get everything nowadays... To be honest, I don't really see what's so 'cute' about them. I know many people disagree with me, but man! I gotta let this out... I think the Rabbids are just annoying, screaming, mutated bunnies. However, the originals were much better (Well, at least I think they are.). It's a shame Ubisoft didn't keep them that way.

Wasn't there a Naurto costume for the Rabbids in RRR2?

Re: Rayman: Raving Rabbids 2
Yes there was. They had all sorts of costumes. And poor Ray is left with barely anything.
