Earthquake in the UK...
Apparently there was an earthquake in the north of England that was about 4.7 on the Richter and people in as farther down as London claimed to have felt it. I'm in near London but I didn't feel it? Who of you Brits did?
Re: Earthquake in the UK...
No I didn't.
What, I'm not a Brit?

4.7? pffft. 10 is a much better earthquake.
Re: Earthquake in the UK...
There was a 3-ish earthquake in Roy (a neighboring city to mine) that I didn't feel, but some people I went with at school felt it. You could have just been out of range or the wavelengths for the quake skipped your area or whatever. Things like that are possible.

Re: Earthquake in the UK...
Considering the energy released is multiplied by 30 when the magnitude increases by one, I guess there's a huge difference between both of them.

It hit Lincolnshire. I live down south, so I wouldn't have felt anything anyway.

i think i'm insane. it would explain why my "selective" school is built like a fortress and has high spiky fences.
also, the latter part of the post was a joke. i only find death funny if its meant to be funny i.e in the form of a cartoon or movie.

Re: Earthquake in the UK...
I felt it. It was quite strong in Coventry. It woke me up. I was lying in bed, I woke up about 1 am, and there was this almighty shaking noise, and my room shook pretty violently for about 10 seconds. It knocked off my shelf and my guitar amp fell off the edge of my drawers. I was half asleep at the time, and all I could think at that time was, "what the hell was that?"
