I come bearing gifts!

Post by Cairnie »

Since I've been in such a Rayman spin as of late, I've started doing Rayman fanart again. Pics are hosted with my Livejournal gallery thing.

1) Tily, which I've done in an oekaki.
2) A Rayman sketch I already have on my DA scraps, though I don't post so much there these days.
3) Baby Globox in a race against a robot lackey.
4) My most recent pic.

I also need a bit of help. For some weird reason, I can't seem to draw Ly anymore, especially her face - everytime I draw her she ends up looking either like an old lady or...uh, I don't know, probably ugly is the word I'm after. I guess I tend to stylise things a bit too much, but then, humans have always been a massive weakness in my drawing.

Enjoy!

Yay pretty stuffs! : D

I really love the colours in all of these. The baby Globox is so adorable~ I love Rayman's pose in the second one. I love how you make Rayman's body look really soft and squishy, hehe~ Like a sack. xD;;

As for your Ly-problem... umm, I dunno... Try sketching just her face over and over again, ignoring your mistakes, no touching the earser, just draw, and correct the mistakes you made in your first sketch in your second sketch. That usually works for me, but what helps for me might not neccesarily work for you, since we're all so different...

I've tried that, but well, I'm not sure if I'm improving. I've always found Ly to be a hard-to-draw character. :confus: My motivation towards art has been quite on and off these past few years.

Anyway, thank you Limely! ;D

Never got to finish this one, but I'd like to post it anyway since it's the first time in years since I drew Rayman in his original style.

Always good to see Rayman's original style come back to life. He was so adorable then. XD One of the reasons I loved him when I played the first Rayman game to be honest.

Allegro Presto. :D

I remember playing R2 when I was little at my friend's house, and I was really disapointed because Rayman wasn't looking so adorable as I'd remembered. xD

Anyways, it's really cute. :3 Is that a Band-Land-scene? The note is awesome. :D

Yeah it's Band Land. Allegro Presto was such a bitchy level, but damn do I love those sky backdrops in that world.

I remember playing just that one level so much because it actually had more than 100 tings total. :D Or near that amount. So if you could play through without dying, you'd gain one life each time.

Yeah, I remember doing that on my first playthrough as well, but I didn't need any more lives on my second and third playthrough =D

I only did it to get 99 lives... but anyway, I remember that without losing almost any lives, and collecting all Tings and lives, I always reached this limit before the end of the game.

This artwork is excellent, Stacey! I can never manage drawing Rayman. Still, once you've done the nose, the rest is easy. ^_^

Awesome. :3 Really sweet shading, and colours in general for that sake.
