They always put the clocks back an hour at the start of winter, and forward an hour at the start of summer in England. I have no idea why.

we do that here too. but again, no idea why, daylight savings is a pain. suddenly your whole routine shifts so you're waking up an hour earlier, but it's actually the same time.
