In our system, history and geography is combined into one class, Social Studies. You do that, Science, English, Math, and PE all through high school. There are some fairly good option, but nothing all that amazing.

My school focused on athletics and academics. They didn't give a shit about creativity.

That sounds quite weird, the only electives we could have were Latin and Greek.

In my school we could choose to do the following [those in bold were ones I took]:

French, IT or PE [an hour period of PE was compulsary, while a one hour IT was called Key Skills]
Geography or History
Art, Drama or Music
Graphics, Resistant Materials [woodworks] or Textiles
And in the end we could choose whether or not to take the final Religious Education exam, but I was one of only two people that actually chose not to.

we only had...like...one elective. Everything else that could be considered an elective was a business type class.

So, you can't study both history and geography in the UK?
