I suck at Photoshop too. I still need to learn how to make something transparent...

i've never needed to. but yeah, the only way i'd know how to get anything transparent is to start with a transparent background.

I've stolen someone's account at school and use Photoshop from there. Sadly, I don't have any skills and have nobody to teach me.

Maybe it is worth looking some up. I'm great at making avatars, but haven't the skills to enable transparency. Also, the pink colour is slightly different.

One day I'd love to be able to make proper ranks, instead of ones with white/black corners.

you mean the avatars we have here? only some of them have corners.

That's true, but whoever made the ones with white corners assumed that everyone would be using Firefox or IE7. On my computer downstairs the whole forum looks horrible.

i have IE6. it doesn't look that bad, but it's probablt because this was how i first saw it, so i'm used to it. when i go on the ones at school with IE7 it looks wierd to me.

well, as yet, no-one has really explained to me why fiurefox is better, so until i have a reason to switch, i won't bother.
