no, he's saying that the japanese language doesn't have words for certain thing, so instead of making words they borrow words from other languages.

Yes. In Polish, there is no completely Polish word for computer. It is komputer. Sayin' ckompooter. You know, there was no idea for this.
In another langs, e.g. Chinese, it's easier for people to create new words. However, in European languages and probably in Japanese, they are simply words from other langs with changed sayin'. (e.g. Italian doesn't use 'sh', so if there would be word imported to Italian, people of Italy would change 'sh' to e.g. 'ss'.

I've only studied German for one year
Re: What languages do you have at your school?
I've been studying German for 5 years, and I'm still not fluent. I can only blame the poor language tuition my school offers.

Re: What languages do you have at your school?
I haven't studied German at all but I can make out almost all of that last sentence.
Re: What languages do you have at your school?
Because she's smart and you're dumb.
About Dutch: I've never seen a non-scandinavian language that's easier for me to understand when it's written! Almost all the words are similar to Norwegian ones. It is, however, impossible to understand spoken Dutch, because of all the choking noises Dutchmen make when they speak.
No offense, Jona and other Dutch people. I think Dutch is a great language.
