Resident Evil

Post by Hunchman801 »

It's official, the last game of the Resident Evil series will come out on March 13th 2009 in the US and in Europe. We already knew that Chris Redfield would be the hero and that the story would take place in Africa, but many things were revealed yesterday at the E3 :D
The game engine is very similar to the one of RE4, and enemies also seem to be infected with plagas-like parasites. As usual, there's also going to be a whole range of monstrous foes, such as giants, bat-like creatures, and other indescribable things, and dantesque enemies, not to mention a skimpy but creepy chainsaw man, and a sick masked executioner with a huge mace...

Here are a few videos: And many high quality screenshots here!

So, let's talk about it

My favourite episode remains the GameCube version of RE1 (Rebirth), but RE4 sure is one of the best games I've ever played. By the way, the awesome Mercenaries mode is apparently back in RE5, I remember playing it until 6 AM with friends, and I hope they'll make it multiplayer this time, as there will be a cooperation mode for the game itself 8)
By the way, there are good quality pictures of the new Dr Salvador and of the executioner in the screenshot list I mentioned above, you should have a look at them!

And a couple of new videos:
Playing with Chris
Playing with Chris and Sheva
Another version of the trailer

Many unknown characters can be seen, the mad pyrotechnist ( ), a very nice looking woman with an awesome dress, and a masked woman in a cloak. And by the way, the executioner actually wields a huge hammer. Damn I can't wait :(

My bro already has a 360 so I'd rather buy a PS3 that I can take to Paris. By the way, is your 360 noisy, Tobbe? Ours sounds like a hoover :P

Yeah it's a bit noisy, but I don't mind.

If I decide to buy one, I'll wait until 2009, as they lower the prices each year.

I still need to pick up the PC version of RE4. I played it already on the GameCube, and it's a very fun game. I'll have to see how RE5 turns out to be. :D

The Resident Evil thread

Post by Shawn »

Yes, Beebop did post something like this a long time ago. But it was really just a guide for RE4, not a thread where you talk about the entire series.

So, to start, I'm looking forward to the Wii version of RE1 to come out. It's already out in Japan from what I've heard. There's even box art for it. Not fan-made either.

I heard RE plays really badly on the Wii. I also heard that RE5 is the same as RE4.

You hear wrong. It's actually better, since aiming is much easier. It has scores that are on par with the original GC version. In fact, people say that the Wii controls make it too easy. So, they work.

Okay.

I have RE1 for PS1, but I haven't played it much. The game feels a bit...old.

It really grinds my gears that the fourth Resident Evil movie has nothing to do with the fourth Resident Evil game. :pascontent:
