Only on DeviantART do you see some real WTFs in terms of Rayman having Mary-sues that have his babies. Roflwaffle.

But now i've said, heard and readed it too much.

Oh, I still wish for a true Rayman 4... I remember even being a little crushed by Rayman 3 just because it missed so much of Rayman 2's magical atmosphere.

Though, I guess Rayman 2 could best be described as a "cult classic," just due to the fan following the one game has.

Long-time fans mostly agree with you: despite being a great game, Rayman 3 missed the magical style of the previous game. When playing Rayman 2, I couldn't help thinking about the universe of the game, the story of the levels and what could be behind those walls. In Rayman 3, I just enjoyed the game.

Even in the GameSpot and IGN reviews for Rayman 2, they said something along the lines of, "Rayman's world just feels like a real place." And indeed, I think it does. Rayman 3 kind of missed that mark too. If anything, Rayman 3 kind of continues the original game's feel, and Rayman 2 was the different one.

But yeah... I remember even throwing myself off cliffs just to see if the developers hid in any cool world additions. XD

I remember in the Dreamcast version there was some weird crystal thing far in the water at the beginning of the Marshes of Awakening and I tried so damn hard to reach it.

I'm curious now, what the hell was Morb 20?

I just think Rayman 3 needs these three tings:
1. Free roaming, or at least some bigger levels with more secret places.
2. Ly. I think she's a way too important character, to only appear as a statue.
3. Better replaying. When you replay levels in R3, you restart the entire thing, which means you can't go back and do things you couldn't do before, like in RR or in R1. Of course, you can replay old boss battles, but you can't open hidden places and stuff.

But i don't think it needs magic...

I don't quite see what you mean there, as Rayman 3 has great replayability. For those want high scores, it's really replayable. But I think I understand what you mean...the levels are quite boring.

It's just the same old things over again. Nothing new when you come back. And every time is actually the first time, which means that none of the characters acts different or say different things because you've completed the game. You don't even get the feeling that you have completed it.

The Rayman 4 as it was first announced was going to have the R2 magic again, I think. I just... felt it from the screens. ^^
And... free-roaming! *drools*
What a shame they replaced it by that stupid party game ( I wonder how many times this has been said before XD ).

There's nothing better than free-roaming! That's why i love Rayman Revolution. But this was going to be even better:

I especially loved the sight of Rayman riding that eagle =D
... and that huge forest. And Rayman sprinting and jumping over pools. Man, how I loved that scrapped R4.

Although the animals all looked too realstic. They should've had more rayman-ish creatures.

Well, I think leaving them so realistic was the right thing to do. It looked more R2-and-BG&E-ish...
