< finished reading a brilliant book by Erlend Loe called "Muleum" today. It's written as the diary of a girl who looses her parents in a plane crash. She kind of looses her mind and tries to suicide but fails miserably (because the fucking guy at the fucking shop sold her a fucking modern, elastic rope). Having inherited a considerable sum of money, she leaves Norway and starts traveling around the world, visiting all kinds of places and doing all sorts of silly things, hoping to somehow end up at the wrong place at the wrong time and finally die. (it can't be that hard, as she says, other people do it all the time) She hunts down a Korean ice-skater she's seen on TV from the Winter-Olympic games and ends up as his girl, she tries to deliberately get raped at a Danish airport but fails at that, she meets her old psychiatrist who is a 40 years old man and married with two kids at a nude-beach in Gran Canaria with her best friend who is 18, lays in a hen-house in Greece with hens that are to be destroyed because they have contracted bird-flu for three days, hoping to contract their disease, finds out she's pregnant with the Korean ice-skater and finally, she learns how to fly small planes from a friend she gets, then steals his plane, flies to Africa, crashes, survives, gets lost in the Sahara desert and then decides that she wants to live anyways, but now she will surely die. It all goes well in the end though.

Also I totally spoiled it for you but I cannot in my wildest dreams see this book getting translated and published outside Norway anyways. That never happens.
