Because usually they make no sense.
Re: Rayman 1 GBC images (shot by yours truley)
No, they make perfect sense, they just have one word, making them non-informative or something.
Whatever. You've seen the pictures at the beginning, and middle, of the topic, right?

Err... I think so...

What about us?
Re: Rayman 1 GBC images (shot by yours truley)
Nope. No one.
Re: Rayman 1 GBC images (shot by yours truley)
So, Mr. Dark. What are you going to do now that you've ripped almost everything from Rayman 1 GBC?
Re: Rayman 1 GBC images (shot by yours truley)
Custom sprites probably. Or map back grounds. Or full maps altogether. But I know I'm going to be taking screen shots of the text pics sometime soon.
Re: Rayman 1 GBC images (shot by yours truley)
I've ripped all the cutscenes and menus from Rayman 1 GBC and put them into a sprite sheet.
It contains screenshots from the English and Japanese versions of the game.
(The Japanese version is called "Rayman: Mister Dark No Wana")
I did a few edits too.
I've decided to post it, but in three parts, as it is too big. Here they are:

Curious to know what the "no Wana" part of the Japanese title means...

This sheet contains white space and duplicates. I think.

Well, just from that little bit, "wana" means trap or entrap, and "no" means the word or phrase following is descriptive of the word or phrase preceding.StaceyW wrote:Curious to know what the "no Wana" part of the Japanese title means...

Rayman 1 GBC = Rayman: Mister Dark's Trap!
Yes? No? Maybe?
Oh, and I know that the sprite sheets contain a few duplicates, but it is because I wanted to rip full scenes in both English AND Japanese.
The reason there are also duplicates in other places (e.g. my custom Dark Legacy Extra and Time Attack level cards) is because I wanted to put in an image that I thought could be used as that level's image, rather than leaving a blank space there.
As for the blank spaces that ARE there... I wanted to group together similar screens in an organised manner, not just have them all pressed together with no gaps in between.

Yeah, that's close enough for government work.Marley wrote:Rayman 1 GBC = Rayman: Mister Dark's Trap!

By the way, thanks for educating use on what "wana" means. I looked all through my Japanese Dictionary and couldn't find it at all.

Odd, I have a 1983 Webster's New World Compact Japanese Dictionary, and wana is right between wan and wani (which oddly enough means alligator).Marley wrote:By the way, thanks for educating use on what "wana" means. I looked all through my Japanese Dictionary and couldn't find it at all.
Re: Rayman 1 GBC images (shot by yours truley)
Different dictionaries would have different words. At least, that's my theory.

I kind of wish the English version had that subtitle. Mister Dark was a great villain and is seldom remembered in this age.
