I'm currently writing fan-fiction for a fan-sequel of the Dark Knight.

From what I've seen, Two-Face was most likely alive. Batman survived the fall having a minor wound from being shot (the Kevlar on Batman's suit saved him but the bullet still hit him a bit). Two-Face's unburnt eye was closed implying he could be in a coma, nobody checked his pulse or eyes, and he only had a memorial and no burial.

My guess is that he was in a coma, I don't know what Gordon's version of how Harvey died was and being that he told everybody that Harvey escaped the Hospital in time, what else would have killed him?

Anyways, in my Fan-Fic. He is kept in a super-secret hospital/jail room, almost nobody knows about it except the people watching over him.
One day, Harvey broke out of his coma and escaped the hospital without anybody knowing (of course he killed a few people with his coin which was returned to him by Gordon).

He escaped about a full year after Joker was completely arrested. The rest will be in the Fan-Fic.

I do plan to finish this one too.
