You're right, ranks aren't that difficult to make in Paint. The one Dango made was pixelised (covered in black dots I mean). It wouldn't really be difficult to make a better rank.

Taking 3D characters and setting them Paint is very hard. Because you need to remove pixels of the background and replace them. But that's very hard with 3D characters.
