Rayman ROMs/ISOs?
Does anybody know where to download ROMs or ISOs of Rayman games? In particular, the PSX versions of Rayman 1 and 2? I tried a few sites, but they all turned out to be scams of one sort or another. Help?

They do work, I tried them. It's just that it'll download really slowly, and the music in Rayman 1 doesn't work no matter what sound plugin you use so you might have to suffer that. Rayman 2 on the other hand works brilliant when I use my real disc so it might work the same.

Now to find/persuade someone to create that elusive emulator that lets you play downloaded PS1 games on PS3...

You mean for Linux?
And, for GBC and Jaguar, go to Emu-Russia.

I'm just thinking...
PS1 games downloaded from PS Store work on PS3...
But PS1 games downloaded from elsewhere don't...
If I could find out the difference, find out whatever it is that Sony does to make them work as a download...
And no Stan, I don't mean Linux.

@ spiraldoor: To play PS1 backups ( or burned ISOs ) on your PS3, just burn them to a CD-R, and install a modchip or something.

Modchip?
I have a phobia of modifying extremely expensive consoles...
And I tried to download R2 from that site Stacey linked to...but I didn't know it would take like TWELVE HOURS
and my parents won't let me have the computer for that long. -___-

If I'm not mistaken, all versions of the PS3 don't support PS1 games. Only the 60 GB does, right?

Only the 60GB supports PS2 games.
I think all models support PS1 games, though.
*goes off to continue epic quest to be able to download ps1 games and somehow play them on ps3*

Re: Rayman ROMs/ISOs?
Stacey, i downloaded some old Rayamn games for PlayStation 1 but i get a *.bin file. How do you run that.
Sorry, i am new in PlayStation emulating.

Re: Rayman ROMs/ISOs?
You're asking Stacey, but I'll answer anyway. With ePSXe, File -> Run ISO.
You probably need a cue file too. If you don't have it, and you can't run it with ePSXe, it's incomplete.

The ISO I downloaded came with a .cue file so you should be OK.
Yeah Zophar's servers are really slow but it's the only place to get it without having to go through private trackers for a torrent. But it shouldn't take 12 hours to download a 400MB file unless you have a really shitty connection. :/

Re: Rayman ROMs/ISOs?
You know, PS3 modchips aren't cheap (if I know correctly - if they wouldn't, there would be lots of them on Polish auctions and PS3 would start to sell better in Poland), so the easiest way would be install kind of Linux on your PS3, compile an open-source emulator (or get one compiled for PPC) and then run the thingy.spiraldoor wrote:And no Stan, I don't mean Linux.
Exactly. They contains some DReaMs of Sony (acronymed: DRMs). And they are usually modified a bit.spiraldoor wrote:PS1 games downloaded from PS Store work on PS3...
If you want a game that can't be bought and not install Linux, you should buy a normal game, copy it to Memory Stick, and take a look what's the difference between PSStore image and cue/bin image. And iso image. Hope it doesn't contatin checksums.
No offence here, but most of PS2 modchips made impossible to play PS1 games AT ALL, including originals, so I think it would work similar way with PS3.Drolpiraat wrote:To play PS1 backups (or burned ISOs) on your PS3, just burn them to a CD-R, and install a modchip or something.
Re: Rayman ROMs/ISOs?
I know the problem. I had a faulty bios.
Say, does the brain games ISO come with this cue file ?

Re: Rayman ROMs/ISOs?
Depends on your source. And, I saw a method (in Polish, sadly) for creating it yourself.

Re: Rayman ROMs/ISOs?
Yeah that's the ISO I downloaded to test the reliability of that site and yeah there's a .cue. This game needs a LOT of configuring though, I'm not really used to running ISOs in ePSXe myself.
Re: Rayman ROMs/ISOs?
I got it running but it's really slow. Say, what configuring do i need to do ?

Random shots: Get smaller resolution, turn off everything except of system and antivirus if you use one, use faster computer.Joshua822 wrote:I got it running but it's really slow. Say, what configuring do i need to do ?

Re: Rayman ROMs/ISOs?
try setting the frame rate in the video plugin [soft driver] to 60 or 50 fps, that should make the game run at a reasonable speed at least. Also it's only the menu that freezes every 5 seconds, the actual game doesn't, so press what you need to press when it the menu does run.
