You know what annoys me though? People who compare Rayman to Plok, which I think is no better. OH NO, Ancel totally stole the throwing hands this, just like Naka stole the jump thing from Mario; THE SHAME!

Maybe I'm being hard on this game here but it pains me when people try to compare one game to another. The way I see it, each game is unique in its own right, even the shitty cartoon/movie tie-ins, no matter how similar they are to Mario, Sonic, Crash and the like.

Plok only has one Rayman element, that doesn't mean that Ancel actually took the idea, I mean, he probably never heard of the game.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zolCVB7BhdY calls it the true first Rayman game. It seems nothing like a Rayman game at all, the battle style and overall style is nothing like Rayman's.

Exactly. Mind, I drew fanart of this some time before because 1) I was impressed at first, and 2) I was dicking about with Corel Painter.

Rayman still dominates in my books. :) Just 'cause Plok doesn't have a sequel, no need to take it out on Rayman.

It was a great game tough :D.

Even Bubsy... *shudder*

I never had a SNES so I'm not really familiar with that console's library. Mind, I didn't hear of many of the Megadrive games I played until I was 14, until then I knew just Sonic and the Disney tie-ins. :P

Oh for fuck sake I've got to stop mistaking the edit button for the quote. :|

Maybe Rayman is just really popular in my state, because whenever I play RRR with someone or talk to them about the series they're either A) a relative who's too young to have played the original platformers or B)go "Didn't Rayman used to go out and save the world and stuff? WTF is he doing with these rabbits?"

Still, its really weird they keep adding his name in front of the titles when he keeps having less and less to do with the actual games. Maybe after TRRS they're going to split off the franchises? Like how the first Wario Land and Yoshi's Island games had a tiny "Super Mario Land/World 3/2" prefix added to them just so people would know where the characters came from? It makes sense for the french logo because they're probably aiming for a gradual weaning off, but that doesn't explain why the English-speaking territories still have Rayman's name be the largest friggin' thing on it.

EDIT- Didn't see this whole new pages worth of posts, and I kind of wish I didn't because it makes me sad that Maui Mallard doesn't have a fanbase.

Rayman still has to defeat the rabbids. If he doesn't, it wouldn't make sense

I know I'm probably the only person here that actually cares about this game, but gametrailers has some new videos up.

The most interesting one is the first one in the playlist thats a 2.5d platformer set in a lotto machine.

Anything interesting (e.g, an actual story, Rayman 1/2/3 references)?

If people would actually read threads you would have known
A) There are cutscenes after every day creating more or less the closest thing to an actual ingame storyline that the RRR games have ever seen. Rayman appears in ALL of them.
B) There are two (TWO) pictures of Rayman on a walking shell in his house.

The game's hiscore holders are Globox, Rayman and Murfy. To clear a game you must beat Murfy's score of 10000 points.

You know, i'm starting to think that R4 is close.

A) Rayman platformer references
B) Rabbids stuck in TV
C) Old Rayman characters

There are two possibility's :

A) The rabbids will be gone and Rayman will have his platformers back
B) The series will be splitted ( Maybe something like Mario Party ? )

I would prefer option B

What, in a few words, happens in these cutscenes?
