ALERT! NOUSEMERCENARY REPLIED!

This is what he said:
NoUseMercenary wrote:Well I don't really have much information other than that it will be announced soon. He mentioned some other titles such as Assassin's Creed 2 and Beyond Good and Evil 2. Both of which have been announced by Ubisoft...AC2 not really...but you can assume.
Interesting... :)

A friend of mine, who knows someone who worked several months at Ubi, told me that he heard the same thing. He might have confused it with RRR3 though :|

But "Rayman 4" doesn't really sound like "Rayman Raving Rabbids 3" or "Raving Rabbids TV Party" or whatever it's called. And I don't see how two Ubi members would make the exact same mistake. But we've got nothing conclusive yet. Only speculation. We might as well sit back and see what comes of this.

Sit back, relax, and enjoy the Rayman crysis
He may confuse it with RRR3, but maybe he doesn't .

Didn't RRR replace the production of R4? If this is the case, it could well be a misunderstanding.

Despite what I was told, I won't believe anything until it's officially announced.

NoUseMercenary says that he was told about R4 being developed for PS3 by a Ubi Member in March 2008.

Weren't Ubi developing RRR3 in March 2008? And isn't it going to be Wii exclusive? And wasn't RRR2 already released as a Wii/NDS exclusive title by then? RRR1, while often confused with R4, certainly wasn't being ported PS3 in March 2008.

That better not be just for PS3, we've already forked out so much on the Wii. >8(

Not all of us. I bought PS3. I have foresight. Unlike the 360-buyers. The Wii-buyers, I'm not sure about...would they really bring out a Rayman platformer for Wii? Ancel isn't going to release BG&E2 for Wii, as he wants to keep the game "real". He seems to think that having a game on the Wii would make it all casual and not-so-good...and I may be inclined to agree with him...

By we I mean me and my family. I could always get a PS3 much later, like 3 years, as I done with the gamecube and grab up a bunch of second hand games, but at the moment hardly any games appeal to me. I'm really not one for sports sims or FPS's.

But what in god's name makes anyone think that games that aren't on the Wii are real? If not, then why are there games like Okami, Call of Duty and Super Mario Galaxy on there? Having played the latter, it's just as playable as any other game that's played on a wired controller.

It's all down to opinions, I guess. Wii doesn't have as many...how do I say it..."serious" games as the other two. I don't like sports sims either, but some first person shooters are actually quite awesome. They're not ALL like Halo. Look at Half-Life, and you see how awesome an FPS can be. Also, PS3 has some quite brilliant in-house developers, including Insomniac(Spyro, Resistance, Ratchet), Naughty Dog(Crash, Jak, Uncharted) and Team ICO(ICO, Shadow of the Colossus), to name a few. BTW, all three mentioned are currently developing PS3 games. Also, Ubi seems to be leaning towards Sony of late, by releasing games on PSN, and also by having their own area in PlayStation Home (Google it). And another thing: BG&E2 in 1080p, 'nuff said.

Platformers are very nice on the Wii, unlike Call of Duty. Call of Duty is not good on the Wii.

Just so you know Spiral, Crash and Spyro are no longer made by Naughty Dog and Insomniac. And I wouldn't expect any more Jak games either.

For the love of god drop the free-roaming shit. r4 should be like r3 and r2.

Free-roaming might be great, but it would be safer to make rather linear levels (maybe like Rayman 2, which was less linear than Rayman 3), as it could be pure crap as well :|

Rayman 2 levels were so linear, however it was in pure platforming style.

I would keep it like Rayman 2/Revolution. I don't know if free roaming would be really great in the levels (in the hubs it looks great).
