This is currently useful if you'd like to lend your games to your friends. They usually keep disc clean and working, but destroy your case. But you're right it is not economical.
SamBeckett94 wrote:But the NES is the best.
No offence, but I actually never enjoyed NES games I have seen.
Matyuv wrote:I don't have any consoles because they are too expensive for me (so are the games).
I mean, if I have the money to buy an Xbox, I'll probably buy a nice distortion pedal or something instead, because PC games are good enough for me already.
True, when I saw prices of consoles in Russia, in Poland, in Germany and then in America, I came back to Russian pricelist and yelled.

You know, for the price of a PS3 i can get a nice PC that can easyly run all games from today at my local computer store :D

Stan, you don't need to see NES games, you have to play them, then you will agree with me, Sam, and Stacey that NES rocks :winks:

Actually I hardly ever liked the NES that much. I like the Megadrive much more.

And I already put my spare wii game box to use by using it to replace a gamecube box that got broken.

PS3 games install too, but the process is much simpler. Put the disc in, it says "installing, X%, please wait" and after 5-10 minutes it's done and loading times are significantly decreased every time you play from then on.
Holy Crap wrote:I don't really give a damn about the motion sensing crap, it actually kinda annoys me.
It's nice that Sony doesn't force the motion-sensing on you the way Nintendo does. For example, in Resistance, the only thing you use the motion-sensing feature for is to shake off enemies that grab you, or in multiplayer to shake off flames and bullet-drawing tags.
Holy Crap wrote:The PS3 on the other hand...I really don't like the price on those things. Though I will miss playing Naughty Dog and Insomniac games.
The 40GB model is coming down to $299.99.

Anyhow, are there really many good games for high-end PCs? Because not many people have high-end PCs, so not many people would buy an amazing game for them which cost a LOT to develop because it's so awesome.

Another point: Pretty much every 360 game is on PC, and those that aren't, will be in a few years. Also Bioshock, Lost Planet and other 360 games have been ported to PS3.

Yeah--no one cares, and you're not convincing anyone. I didn't even bother to read the whole thing because it would probably waste my time...

I didn't hear about another Quake, though I know that id Software is working on Doom 4 and is having Raven Software (Quake 4 developers) work on a new Wolfenstein game.

I hope id take Doom back to the original Doom concept; just a mindless demon massacre. I still regurarly play the first Doom game on XBLA and I enjoy it waaaay more than the failure wannabe-horror game that was Doom 3.

3 years? I read it in the August 2007 edition of GTM. That's not three years ago -___-

Then GTM have got outdated numbers. All I know is that the fail rate of new Xboxes has fallen dramatically since they altered the hardware configuration. And will you stfu already? I'm sure I'm speaking for everyone here when I say we have had enough of your fanboy bullshit. Just let it go. If you really wanna spread your crap on the net, go to GameFAQ's.

I'm not sure exactly when, but I think they changed the cooling units (which failed and created RROD) about 8-12 months after release.

They've done at least two new revisions since the original release. I know one used larger heatsinks and another had a smaller manufacturing process on either the processor or the video card (can't remember). (And at this point, he's only hurting himself.)
