You are just a moderator from home, whereas she is an official administrator who should check the forum regularly and organise backups very frequently (especially because of previous hacks). And for your question, although it sounds crazy, the answer should be yes if we have such an admin.

She´s not the only one making the decisions over there though. There are higher ups and others she has to talk to before she can do anything. She´s just the unfortunate one who has to stick her neck in and tell us what is going on.

What should be done?

Basically, develop forum-specific backups, as they promised in 2006 when the Infopop RZ was first hacked. And maybe investigate in order to understand how this can happen so often. Either they're geniuses finding a new trick every six months, or there's a huge breach in that crappy system and it may be time to shift to a decent solution.
