Now, don't say something is cool. You know now what does it mean.
There. XD
Anyway, Rayman4- we've been waiting for 5 years. Ancel should give Ubisoft the middle finger and go off to someone else, like Nintendo
(There will be angry Rabbid fans clawing at my heels now)
Re: I have discovered what Ancel is up to!!
I don't know if that's a good idea. Doesn't Ubi Soft owns the rights to the Rayman character ? If Ancel has the rights of Rayman, he should go to Nintendo ^^
Re: I have discovered what Ancel is up to!!
I dought he does- he would've probably have done that already. Unless he feels uncomfortable about going to a company that doesn't speak his language. And Ubisoft is the biggest French gaming company (or something).

There's no way he owns the rights to Rayman, video game IPs are always owned by the company at least 98% of the time. Usually if a company dies, the character's rights die with it, no matter where the creator goes.

Well, the way Ubisoft's heading at the moment, we might as well have Rayman an early funeral.

I don't know, hints about Rayman 4 are becoming reality slowly, like the interview with nintendo power

Well Ubisoft is definitely not going out of business anytime soon, as they are the biggest video game publisher/developer in France.acarr1 wrote:Well, the way Ubisoft's heading at the moment, we might as well have Rayman an early funeral.
But it is possible Rayman is making less and less money for them, which is probably true considering they are pushing for the Rabbids to keep it alive.
Most of the time when a company starts doing worse and making less money, they will have their rights and IPs bought out by a bigger company and then usually character rights disappear or they license it out for rereleases or someone to make a crappy "unofficial" sequel. See Sierra for example.
But Ubisoft is already big so no one would by them out, and I can assure you they'll never sell the rights to Rayman to anyone, not even Ancel, who probably couldn't afford it anyways.
Even if Rayman were to stop being completely profitable for Ubisoft, they may not make any games with him for a while but bring him back when the time is right, when people start liking platform games and games based on characters again.
Actually a lot of that is resurfacing, because people are getting sick of the same old shooters, Japanese RPGS, and XTREME games. So the time is probably ripe for a new proper Rayman game. But Ancel has to finish Beyond Good and Evil 2 first. From what I understand his team and funding isn't that large so it may take him a while, which sucks.

They should take all the money that's being given to charity and give it to Ancel so he can make BG&E2, then get on with R4.
And the rights to Rayman being owned by Nintendo would be a disaster. There's only two Rayman games that are Nintendo-exclusive. They are called Rayman Raving Rabbids and Rayman Raving Rabbids 2. Now, imagine if Nintendo owned the rights...we would never see another platformer.

RRR isn't nintendo exclusive.
Re: I have discovered what Ancel is up to!!
Ubi Soft made Rayman Raving Rabbids 2 exclusive for Nintendo, but that doesn't mean that Nintendo made them
And, by the way, i don't see Nintendo ever trading in the good ol' mario series for a stupid Mario Raving Rabbids serie
Re: I have discovered what Ancel is up to!!
Em... Mario party.
Even it has better quality of everything but the concept is the same.

Whoops. I meant to say "RRR2 and RRR3", NOT "RRR1 and RRR2". I am dreadfully sorry.Holy Crap wrote:RRR isn't nintendo exclusive.
