Re: Best Videogame System
For me, the Xbox 360 is the best current-generation videogame system ( sorry PS3 fanboys-and-girls ).
My only arguments:
- It has more games, which is because it was released sooner.
- Microsoft has Rare working for them. RARE. The creators of Banjo-Kazooie. If there are any X360 owners around here who have the time to look at the marketplace, seriously, play the new B-K: Nuts & Bolts demo. Trust me, you'll love it. And then you'll see why this is my second argument.
- EVERYONE had a PS2, so replaying old games would be kinda stupid on a PS3, since you already played them. HOWEVER, you can also replay most old Xbox games on Xbox 360 ( and they look way better on X360! ), and one of them is Conker: Live & Reloaded, which is also made by Rare. Like B-K, it's a game you MUST play.
Indeed, those are arguments you can't deny, PS3 fanboys.

I've never played any Rare games apart from Donkey Kong Country.Drolpiraat wrote: - Microsoft has Rare working for them. RARE.
I really wish companies didn't make their games exclusive to particular consoles though.
Re: Best Videogame System
Yeah, i hate that to. Common, then people can choose for a console and can play all the good games. I'm sure there will be enough people for the Wii, for the PS3 and for X360.

Re: Best Videogame System
Wrong move, I hadn't! FOR ME AT LEAST PlayStation 3 is better than Xbox 360. Reasons (shrunk to make sure I'll not flood this forum):Drolpiraat wrote:EVERYONE had a PS2
-) Xbox Live doesn't officially work in Poland. PSNetwork works officially in Poland, so if I would buy one, I haven't got to "invent a postcode".
-) There is no official support for Linux on Xbox 360.
-) After buying laptop with Vista, my parents don't trust MS anymore, so if I would tell 'em I've bought Microsoft console...
-) PS3 has many "additional features" like Blu-ray player, memory card reader etc. I know it is no reason for buying it, but it is ONE hard reason for making sure its better for me than Xbox 360.
-) Xbox 360 would look weird in our living room and in my bedroom. PlayStation 3 is prettier.
-) You can't currently play Rayman 1 on Xbox 360.
-) You can't currently play Rayman 2 on Xbox 360.
-) Even with more games for Xbox 360, I don't see interesting exclusives in Polish on-line shops. (Remember that I play mainly platformers.)
-) Microsoft Xbox 360 for some weird reason doesn't play Microsoft Windows games, and I'm sure its processor would be able to run older ones. Sony PlayStation 3 model C doesn't play Sony PlayStation 2 games, but Sony officially says it has no power to do it.
-) Pad of Xbox 360 interrupts work of Wi-Fi network.
-) Some other ones.
Re: Best Videogame System
Not everything is correct Stan, but i accept your opinion. Tough, as i already said before, both the X360 and PS3 can play Windows games, thanks to Tuxie that drunk to much Wine
Here are fault facts :

Linux is your friend, and Wine is too
I explained this on the previous page ^^

The Linux for X360 is even less working than Homebrew Channel for Wii, so no wonder how would you run Wine there.

Re: Best Videogame System
The PS3's upscaling.
And how can you play R1 and R2 on a 360?
Also, the PS3's controller is better than the 360's because
1: It has built-in power cells that never need to be replaced, which last for 24 hours after being charged for 15 minutes via USB cable, which you can do while playing.
2: With the 360, your right thumb controls 6 buttons, your index fingers control one button each, and your middle fingers are not used. But with the PS3, your right thumb controls 4 buttons, your index fingers control one button each, and your middle fingers also control one button each, thus giving the ability to press more buttons at once, thus giving greater control. I think microsoft only added the black and white buttons to make it not look like an exact copy of the PS controller.
3: The PS3's controller is motion-sensitive.

Re: Best Videogame System
Wrong. X360 controller is there just like PS2/PS3 one, it has modified down triggers instead of black and white buttons. You were actually talking on the first Xbox's first controller in this point.2: With the 360, your right thumb controls 6 buttons, your index fingers control one button each, and your middle fingers are not used. You can buy thingy like this for X360 pad.1: It has built-in power cells that never need to be replaced, which last for 24 hours after being charged for 15 minutes via USB cable, which you can do while playing.
Which makes no sense.3: The PS3's controller is motion-sensitive.
Re: Best Videogame System
Yay! Let's start discussing controllers!
@ spiraldoor: This is an analysis of a PS3 controller and an old Xbox controller, so it's not a valid comparison.
When it comes to controllers there's only one thing which decided which one is better; comfort. Imo the X360 controller is the most comfortable controller ever made in the history of gaming. I absolutely love it! For me, the PS3 controller didn't quite do the trick. It's a little to light for my liking, the triggers are fucked up, and it doesn't have rumble (Yes, I know Sony has added rumble to their controllers now, but why didn't they have this from day 1?).
So basically, I prefer the Xbox 360 controller.

WHAT THE FUCK?stan423321 wrote:Which makes no sense.3: The PS3's controller is motion-sensitive.
So they changed it to copy the PS controller? I didn't know that.Tobbe7 wrote:Yay! Let's start discussing controllers!![]()

If you like chubby, "winged" controllers...Tobbe7 wrote:When it comes to controllers there's only one thing which decided which one is better; comfort. Imo the X360 controller is the most comfortable controller ever made in the history of gaming.
o_O In what way?Tobbe7 wrote:I absolutely love it! For me, the PS3 controller didn't quite do the trick. It's a little to light for my liking, the triggers are fucked up,
Because rumble interferes with motion sensing. Though I honestly think it was a bit pointless to add rumble, as it's completely useless where motion sensing actually adds a new dimension to gameplay.Tobbe7 wrote:and it doesn't have rumble (Yes, I know Sony has added rumble to their controllers now, but why didn't they have this from day 1?).

Re: Best Videogame System
I hated the original eggBox controller. Too fucking big for my tiny hands to go around.
Re: Best Videogame System
I wanna get the up-coming DSi
Re: Best Videogame System
I´ve never liked the Playstation-controllers. (heck, never even liked Playstation...) They seem too squarish, kind of. And as Tobbe said, too light... The old Xbox-controllers were huge though, but I liked their round-ness... The wireless ones for the old Xbox were better, and those for the 360 are just right. : >
Re: Best Videogame System
The GameCube conrollers are nasty to hold- but not as bad as Xbox360 with its lumpy, annoying battery pack.
Re: Best Videogame System
Personally I think the PS2 controllers are fantastic, probably because my hand wraps perfectly around them. I must admit I hate the R3 & L3 buttons, but everything else I'm fine with. I'm not so kean on the Xbox controllers though, I find them far too large and heavy.
Re: Best Videogame System
Personally i think of the previous generation the best controller was the PS2 controls. The buttons where placed perfectly for an easy gameplay ( The same with the DS ) and it fit just right in my hands.
For this generation i can't judge. The only console i have from this generation is the DS.
@Accar1 : I don't know. I don't really see any new good features for the gameplay or graphics itself, and the desing isn't that good. If it would give nicer gameplay and better 3D Graphics i would buy it right away.

Re: Best Videogame System
The PS3 controller is the exact same as the PS2 controller, except the R2 and L2 buttons now sense varying levels of pressure, and the analog sticks are more sensitive. And it's motion sensing.
