@Xenon: Maybe, your right. It was only a theory. Hmm, I decided to play LOTLD. I will get so many points as possible in Part 1, because Part 2 is too hard for me.

Moreover, Joshua plays on PC, and I don't think the Lums Glitch works on this platform.
Anyway, TLOTLD is a great level to play!

@Joshua: It's possible to lure the Hoodblaster closer to the piggy banks but I haven't played DOTK for such a long time that I don't exactly know how the combo works. I might try again later and then I could maybe help you.

@Xenon: I think with a perfect game it might be possible but somebody would have to calculate it to find a proof. Let's say that 107000 is at least possible.

@mostwanted: TLOTLD part 2 is a bitch, especially the Matuvu-Combo, make sure you don't have to play that one and you should be fine.

@Xenon:Yeah, I could make a plus of 9.000. After I play HH. There I can make a plus of 20.000, maybe more, when I manage the 6000-Combo.
@sfn: I could it make me easier, when I get the green gem in Part 2 in a 6000-Combo :) . Because the matuvu-combos in this part are for me the horror.

I don't really understand how it is possible to combo the green gem in the throttle copter secret for 6000 points. The yellow can doesn't last long enough to get five gems before the green gem in my opinion and if you reload, the combo definitely runs out.

I'm not sure it's possible to get the green gem for more than 3000 combo points. I've explored the possibility of starting on one of the ledges, falling down collecting gems on the way, quickly activating the TC and flying up to get the next one, then continue on to get the green gem. But I failed here too.

By the way, I don't know how the special Matuvu combo works, but if you have a decent score after part 1 you could do MandM's technique which would be much easier. I did this and got to the maximum easily.

As for the TC secret in part 2, I have never heard of anyone getting the green gem for 6.000 in combo. But I do try myself every time I play this part. Looking at how the game is designed otherwise you'd think there would be a way if you start at the right point and you go up through the gems the right way. If it's possible I'm sure it's within the narrowest possible window of opportunity.

Well, I think it's a combo which won't be happened so fast again.But one time I managed it, I swear. Only then I had the "luck", that I died.
Xenon, you're indeed right, but I find the rest of Part 2 (or proper the matuvu combos) so hard. Well, but come to my progress. I got something around 60.500-61.000.

EDIT: Yeah, I thought, I would be need long for Part 3, but I'm fine: max score in LOTLD! :D :mrgreen:

I've managed to combo the Matuvu for 2500 (or 2000 points, I don't remember the exact number of gems) when getting the maximum starting with the gems on the balloons, then fall down, take one or two of the piggy banks, strafe towards the Tribelle, get the final piggy bank and finish the combo with the Matuvu for 2500/2000 points. The method was created by DTUCC and it's horribly difficult but I don't remember the exact way of taking the gems, it's a long time since I last played that part.

Yeah, I'm repeating me, but because of this I every time tried the 6000-Combo in Part 2. It's indeed very hard, I only brought the Matuvu-Combo to an 1000-Combo and then the Tribelle to an 2500-Combo.
Maybe next week I've got time, hope I can progress. Now I can understand Xenon really, how hard the Warehouse-Combo is. I tried it already a few times.

sfn: I see, but didn't you have problems making the Lockjaw last long enough for the Matuvu in the end? Good thing it's not necessary to make that combo in order to reach the max. score.

Not only is the vine combo tricky, but it's not worth a lot of points actually. Both matuvu combos in part 3 are really hard too (I had no choice but to do them in order to get the maximum score on the PC version :(), but they're only worth 500 bonus points each. It's nothing compared to the Knaaren glitch, as sfn pointed it out. I was really lucky to get it after one day, as I was never able to find the right spot and the right moment to jump, but I'm sure you can do it after all.

Unfortunately, I have no idea how to make the hoodblaster stand near the pigs without hitting him. I tried everything, and considering that I wanted to get rid of him in one hit, I finally decided to restart as long as he wasn't at the right place.

I might remember it wrongly but I don't think the Lockjaw is that much of an issue if you are reasonably fast on the way up. The main difficulty is standing on the right spot to combo the Matuvu after the piggy bank. Namely, you have to turn around after the Tribelle and that's a problem because you have a very short time slot to continue and if you destroy the piggy bank from the wrong position you have no chance to even get the Matuvu and the whole combo is blown.

sfn: It’s a cool combo nevertheless. I guess it falls into the category of “once in a lifetime” combos. I do remember the need for these elaborate and almost impossible combos back in the days when trying to reach the maximum scores for the first time. The first time I reached the maximum score in HH I conjured up a combo in part 2 room 3, where I took almost everything in one big combo. The combo was 17.620 points and the total was 22.900 points. I only managed to do this combo once and it is now redundant as I came up with the Warehouse Combo and the Tribelle Combo later.
Another combo in this category is sadly not redundant, namely the combo for the green gem in SBTC part 3. I have managed this only twice and it was hell every time.

Mostwanted: I assume you ask about the green gem for 3.000 points instead of 6.000 points in HH part 1? Well, my guess is that you can reach around 23.000 points. How’s the Warehouse coming out?

You're right, it's amazing when you manage these kind of combos although you know you'll probably never do them again. I remember I had a similar feeling when comboing the green gem in the Snowboarding part for 4500. The level was finished for me then and only the fact that Jona and you found methods to get 110000 makes it interesting again, but not for now, it might be the last level I'll play.

@MandM: Oh, thanks, but would I really want to ask is, how many points I can reach alltogether in HH without doing the 6000-Combo in Part 1 :wink:

I have the hang of all the combo's in this part. Also, i know how to lure the hoodblaster to the pigs, by standing and strafing near the piggy banks he will jump to you, now hit him twice, collect the gems out the piggybanks and really fast give him the last punch. Now you have a 1100 combo 8) But still no luck with the knaaren glitch tough :(

Because today I've got a lot of time, I can make some vids, which I later post on YouTube. I will make a video with the Knaaren-Glitch, and which point the place, on which the Glitch works :wink: .
Well, I'm thinking of what method I do: Try to get the gem in 6000-Combo or finish Part 1 with 22.500-23.000 Points :?:

At last, I've finished the Desert with a score of 109769 points, which is the maximum for the PC version!!! :teuf: It took me some time, but I found it all much easier than the hoodlum combo in the Land. Now, I'm starting to wonder which level will be next...
