I'm happy about this. I don't care what you all think of me, I'm glad that was banned.

Re: California Approves Gay Marriage Ban
I can't say I really care about it, but well, I don't think there should be gay marriages either. Not that it disturbs me (one of my friends is gay and one of my ex-girlfriends is bisexual), but well, marriage is based on religion, and it wouldn't really make sense then (note that I'm an atheist though). In France, our current position is to offer alternatives with the same financial advantages, which seems quite correct in my opinion.
Re: California Approves Gay Marriage Ban
I personally think it is wrong for people to ban gay marriage. I know gay peoplez and they deserve just as much right to be happy as anyone else, just as long as they keep the very intimate things to them selves.
Re: California Approves Gay Marriage Ban
Even if you don't call it "marriage," per-say, because it's also religion-based, at least provide a civil union or something so that these people could live together and legally share property. That way, if something were, to say, happen to one side of the relationship, the other wouldn't lose the house or whatever because they're not legally entitled.
That's my 2 cents.

Well, I don't see why they shouldn'tarry. And marriage isn't necessarily just a christian or religious thing either.

Oh wow.
Speaking as a straight, I don't see how gay marriage can be so bad. I know it's probably gonna be odd for a kid to have two daddies or two mummies but still.

Re: California Approves Gay Marriage Bsomean
My point exactly. The problem with marriage is that it's an open door to adoption, and I'm sure the life of someone adopted by gay parents wouldn't be funny everyday. Our society is unfortunately not ready to accept this yetPhoenixan wrote:Even if you don't call it "marriage," per-say, because it's also religion-based, at least provide a civil union or something so that these people could live together and legally share property. Gay marriage - sure, why not?
Gay adoption - no way.

Good move of California. And don't use term "gay", because it is a newspeak. Now pedophiles want to invent word like this for them.
They can live with this - no problem - but marriage is way to adoption, and as already stated it is not good.

Re: California Approves Gay Marriage Ban
I've read an article where they interviewed children who'd grown up with gay parents in Norway... (parents who's been married before and had children in that relationship and then became gay you know) They were completely normal individuals, and the debate about homophiles being allowed to adopt seemed to them quite ridiculous, made them angry.
I don't know what I think myself. It must be better to live in a home with gay parents than... in no home at all. I don't know.
And also, gay marriage... Well, why would gays want to marry in church? Being gay is banned by the church anyways. Why on earth is being married in a church so important?
For other kinds of marriage, or whatever you want to call it, sure. They certainly should be allowed to do that.

Re: California Approves Gay Marriage Ban
The main thing that burns me the most though is that for a gay couple, one can't visit the other in the hospital, because they aren't considered "family" since they can't be married. :\ At least acknowledge that much for someone.
Re: California Approves Gay Marriage Ban
I'm not bothered if they want to marry or not; marridge is really a way to bond with your partner and to show that you love them excetra. But...adoptions??????
Poor kid will be so confused- imagine parent evenings and drawing pictures of "my familly". Plus a lifetime of bullying.

And - a typical child adopted by them would have nobody to ask about dates in her/his home.

Mr. Dark, why don't you just put all your news in one topic, instead of making a new one all the time? It would be easier that way.
Re: California Approves Gay Marriage Ban
I don't really see what's wrong with gay marriages. If two people of the same sex want to marry and do whatever else to each other I don't see why it should be disallowed. Look at it from a different perspective, if you were gay and wanted to spend the rest of your life with another guy, you wouldn't want some silly illegality to stop this. It's rather a lack of respect I think.
But I do hold strong views against gay adoption. It would be unbearable for the children, especially in their teenage years.

I can't really blame you. Being gay is creepy, but if that's the way some people think, then we'll have to accept it.spiraldoor wrote:I am homophobic.
