It’s possible you are not able to jump high enough to reach the balloons. Jona once mentioned he was able to jump high on one pc and on another he couldn’t jump nearly as high. Could be something to do with frame rates or such. It’s annoying for you and the way out is indeed getting more points from part 1. On the other hand you have one more Hoodstormer than I have in part 2.Hunchman801 wrote:The balloon thing is really starting to get on my nerves, so I'm playing part 1 again now. I've managed to do the hoodlum combo for the first time (except for the piggy banks and the gems at the very end), but I failed at the green gem combo anyway xD
Considering that I have never managed to jump onto the balloons so far, I'm currently thinking of getting more points in part 1 with the hoodlum combo so that I can do part 2 a different way. Funny how I thought everything would be easy after part 1; now, I almost regret it.

Re: The Rayman 3 Scores Topic
Hmm, the one thing that is wrecking part 2 is the green gem combo. I just can't climb up, jump and roll in time. I've tried this six times, and out of all six attempts I've failed badly. I'm about 0.1 seconds off, but if you think about scoring, this is a great deal of time lost. I can get up to the upper level both ways, but Mand's only tends to work after the Hammerdoor has been knocked down. The Lockjaw combo is going fine except the fact it runs out just as I hit the first Pigpot. Is there a technique I can adopt to moving around the area faster? I notice in the video the last Pigpot and its gems seem to be comboed in a comfortable space of time, but I can't locate this time anywhere - everything I do I feel I do hastingly. It's quite frustrating because that green gem combo isn't exactly what you might consider a 'hellhard' combo, like some of the ones in TSBTC and TBOM for example. Any help for this room (or indeed this part) would be greatly appreciated.

Re: The Rayman 3 Scores Topic
Well, I wish I could help you, I try:
The most deciding things are, that after you shot the mushroom you have to take the red gem very far right. Not that you fall down from the mushroom, but so that you fast jump up to the upper wooden platform. The next important thing is, that you fast have to jump out from your "Hangposition". Then you have very quickly to roll into the green gem. Hope I could help you. But never give up, these 3000 points are indispensable.
Indeed I would glad when I come to the second combo. But I never managed it, to get on the door. Maybe, you, Xenon, can give me some tips, too

Re: The Rayman 3 Scores Topic
The green gem combo is probably the easier one to deal with. When you stand in front of the lowered Mushroom, jump to the right side of the Mushroom and take the red gem as late as possible. If you jump to the centre of the Mushroom, you take to red gem straight on and the combo is lost.
The Lockjaw is all about speed. There is no particular trick, but one tends to lose time around the first group of Pigs and also at the two Pigs behind the smashed door.

Re: The Rayman 3 Scores Topic
Any tips for me? Because I want to decide wheather I played on 107.000 or on the max score.
Re: The Rayman 3 Scores Topic
Go for the max
Anyway, I got the green gem combo working twice, but the first game failed at the Valley Combo (yeah, a silly place) and the second failed at the final multi-Hoodblaster combo. Stupidly, the launching glitch isn't happening so regularly now for some reason, I spent 35 minutes playing before I got it working.
The Lockjaw one still has me. I think the place I'm falling at is shooting the running Hoodblaster, I often have to turn and send a lateral shot (just in case!) so this takes up about one second.

Well, good luck indeed. I try it further and anytime, I will manage it
(Hope in 2 minutes
)
Re: The Rayman 3 Scores Topic
Hmm, what do you want tips for? If it's about jumping the Pigs I believe DTUCC made a video about how to roll off one Pig and use the other one to get launched high enough to reach the upper level. My way of doing it is shown on my video, but maybe it doesn't work on every platform. I know Jona and DTUCC could not make that jump. It was Jona who came up with the rolling off thing.mostwanted82 wrote:Any tips for me? Because I want to decide wheather I played on 107.000 or on the max score.
Re: The Rayman 3 Scores Topic
I don't think I can do your method either. But the time taken doing the launching glitch varies from 2 minutes to nearly 40 minutes, it's quite shocking. In fact I seem to remember getting launched high enough in the first 30 seconds once.
I wonder, does this glitch work for you?

Do you meant me?

Both. I'm interested in which trick you use as well

Re: The Rayman 3 Scores Topic
I used both, but the last minutes (hours
) I use DTUCC's way, because you telled me that it's the easier way. Well, it's I've got the feeling, that I only missed on a few nanometers
Re: The Rayman 3 Scores Topic
I know, I know exactly what you mean. You either get flipped a little (whereby Rayman isn't launched QUITE high enough), mid-height (easily can reach the upper level if you helicopter) or really high (Rayman goes out of sight). The last one is pretty rare though.

Yeah, this I meant
But
this was really bad. For a moment I thought "Yeah, once time after so much tries I got it", but well, then this happened

Re: The Rayman 3 Scores Topic
Actually, I have never tried rolling off the Pigs. And if one has to spend up to 40 minutes trying, then, no thanks! But then again, maybe it's some sort of compensation for my spending half an hour getting the Hoodblaster alive in BOM part 3. I guess the differences of playing the various platforms evens out over the entire game.

Re: The Rayman 3 Scores Topic
In order to do those combos, you have to jump off the scaffolding, otherwise you can't get the vortex. And I don't see how you can get up there without jumping on the balloons. So, I don't understand how you can do the combos first and then collect the gems on the balloonsmostwanted82 wrote:Yes, I can. I do the combos and then I get the gems on the ballons. Or what did you mean?
I'm afraid you might be right. Fortunately, I'm getting better at the hoodlum combo, and I may be able to get 2000 more points from part 1 to compensate. As concerns the bonus hoodstormer, it's cool indeed, but I'll have to take advantage of it. Maybe I could try to get it in combo with the hoodblasters that stand at the entrance of the tribelle room? By the way, they're not mentioned in the solution either, if I'm not mistaken.MandM81 wrote:It’s possible you are not able to jump high enough to reach the balloons. Re: The Rayman 3 Scores Topic
@Hunchman: Well, I' talked great shit and I missunderstood you. I remembered I did other combos: Beat the three hoodlums first, then I wait until the next three Hoodlums are coming. I take a yellow gem, beat the Hoodgarde 2, take the blue can, swing up tot he ring, get all the gems on the ballons, fall down, take the other yellow and red gems under the little tower, beat the Hoodgarde 2, beat the Hoodlifter, and jump in the air, so the third Hoodlifter appears. Beat him, too, and then, reload the blue can, and jump in the water to get the remaining gems.

Re: The Rayman 3 Scores Topic
That sounds very similar to what I'm trying to do:
-Kill the first three hoodlums in combo with a yellow gem
-Take all the remaining gems, kill the caporal on the ground, get the lockjaw, kill the hoodstormer, jump onto the balloons, kill the second caporal on the scaffolding, kill the last hoodstormer (I just thought about it), and try to get the gems in the water.
Maybe I could kill the last hoodstormer from the tower, get the vortex and jump into the water, like in the beginning of one of MandM's videos. The problem is that this hoodstormer shoots at me and punctures the balloons, which is really annoying.

Re: The Rayman 3 Scores Topic
Well, just make some weird movements, while you're jumpin' on the ballons. In the most times, then the Hoodlifter, won't hit you.
Re: The Rayman 3 Scores Topic
WOOHOO!
Mostwanted, I have one thing to say. I win
I've finally finished part 2 with 55251 points, and not only that, I'VE FOUND A WAY TO TRIGGER THE LAUNCHING GLITCH! Hahahahaha! Basically, Rayman gets launched because of the speed of his roll. If he rolls from the farrest possible edge of the Pigpot, he'll get launched. Simply press the jump button and it should happen on most occasions.
Anyway yeah guys! Hahah! It feels so great to have completed one of the toughest parts of CF and the knowing of never having to see those nasty Pigpots again! I played a good game, apart from the fact I lost 300 or so points from the first combo by forgetting a red gem. But who cares about that?
