Hunchman: It was cool to see the two Hoodblasters near the entrance. It’s really quite different from my version of the game. Wonder what else is different in other parts of the game. I think I will get the game for pc and try it out. It could be a meaningful thing to do while waiting for R4 if it ever comes out.

Xenon: In order to keep the combo going you have to find out where the first Hoodlum appears in the new wave. It’s the same place every time. Make sure the last Hoodlum you kill before the new wave is one who stands close to this place. As you make your round in the arena it is possible to skip some of the Hoodlums in order to take them later, so the combo can keep going until the last Hoodlum in the batch. When this last Hoodlum is killed, just wait for the first Hoodlum in the new wave to appear. Kill him as fast as possible, as he tends to run around quite a bit.

As for the Hoodlums getting hit, I can’t help you. Just be on the move and hope for the best.

Mostwanted: What’s your score after part 3? Will you go for the Funkyboard maximum?

@MandM: 94.774 Points. When I one time got it, of course I will do everything to get the "real" max score.

I know, but if you shoot the piggy bank in the air, you won't have time to kill the hoodlum :| Not to mention that the balloons don't let you jump high enough to hit the hoodblaster on the ledge.
Anyway, I've got bad news: I borrowed a friend's numeric pad, and you can't get the matuvu from the ledge, it doesn't appear even if you zoom. I'll have to stick to my first idea, which consists in killing the last hoodlum as late as you can, but I'm not sure it will work.

@ MandM: Can you tell me where this Hoodlum is? I know for sure it's not at the exit of the arena as those Hoodlums take ages. As for the 30 point loss, I have two alternatives: either play the combo with none of the Hoodstylers being hit (VERY unlikely) or shoot the Hoodstyler at the beginning and collect 1 gold gem in combo, thus needing four separate Hoodstylers to be weakened (also VERY unlikely). These are unfortunately the only two ways around. I really wish I had finished part 3 with 94962 instead of 94902... it's almost playing the entire level for again, almost.

By the way, I'll also be getting the PC version, for similar reasons but for others too. It should arrive shortly as I ordered it on Amazon.

@Xenon:Well, but isn't it possible, to get easily one for (6) one and not in combo from the cage? Then you should get 60 points more.

It would be great if that were possible, but unfortunately the Hoodlum needs to be destroyed before the cage can be opened, therefore the minimum addition (in terms of 30) is 120. This means four different Hoodstylers would need to be weakened :(

I was really sure, that this would be the next question :) . I'm not lieing, there is a position where you can destroy the cage before beat the Hoodstyler :wink: . What's up with a screenshot or a video(ok, I promised the other videos a long time ago, but this was I had to learn hard for school. This weekend I've got time.

There is a position Rayman stands to shoot that cage? Awesome stuff. I don't necessarily need a video, but an explanation would really be appreciated as I need an extra 60 points pronto!

Okay. You have to go ahead fast first, because when Globox runs, the Hoodstyler awakes, and then it's too late. After that you have to approach him more.When you almost stand near by him, go lightly left, than heavy, and there is the red arrow and you could shoot on the cage. Well, my explanation was not the best, a video is better. (In High Quality :mrgreen: )

Well, I'm thinking over to play Rayman 3 today, too. Dunno, I would be have nightmares of the Stamping-Combo with the Hoodstylers :o

Hunchman: I have made a firm decision; I will buy R3 for pc and play it through the Xmas holiday.

Xenon: I move around the arena clockwise. If you face the exit, then turn and walk clockwise one third around the arena. On your left you will see a scaffolding in the corner. The first Hoodlums will jump down this scaffolding to be the first on the scene in the new wave. Wait a little distance before this corner and catch the first Hoodlum to continue the combo.

Hmm, I almost got it twice. I got 109729 the first time (yah, there's no way I'm settling for anything below 109759), and the second time everything went fine until the combo broke near the end. There is a light at the end of the tunnel.

@ MandM: Neat, it works! I find that the best place to crush the last Hoodstyler is the other end, then it's easy to simply walk into it.
@ Mostwanted: I've tried several times to get that working, but it's failing. Not to worry though, it's not really necessary anymore.

Awesome, I've just finished part 2 with a score of 60364 :) I actually got more points in this level than indicated in the solution, thanks to the bonus hoodlums, but the combos I had to create as I couldn't jump onto the balloons are much harder. I'll be pleased to discuss them with you guys as soon as you get the PC version :) I have a mathematical finance test tomorrow though, and I'll check part 3 after that in the train.

Excellent job! I think you could also make some mistakes in part 3, and you could get although max score :)
@Xenon: Well, I would be make a video, but when it's not necessary, okay. I guess, I need more time, too. My problem is to connect the Hoodstylers with the Hoodstyler-Wave, which comes after them.

I can lose exactly 2795 points from the solution in part 3, provided I do a perfect game in part 4. How much do you guys advise me to get at the end of part 3? I have no idea how much I can get in part 4, and I think I should save a few points, but I don't know how much.

I would go for 89000 exactly. Doesn't matter if you're 50 down or whatever, but 89000 seems like a good target to go for.
1500*2 + 10 = 3010
92359-3010=89349
The other points are the gems and piggybanks.

I think it's wiser to go for a little less than 89000. Making combos with the gems and piggy banks is pretty easy but avoiding them can be tough. I got 88730 after part 3 and that's about what you should get when you make reasonable combos in this part, which means getting all the gems and piggy banks to get the maximum amount out of them. If you have about 88750, you can still correct little mistakes with the gems after Céloche or in the fighting ground but you don't have to be careful in the beginning of that part.

I would agree on that one. I aim for 88.600 - 88.800 points after part 3 when I play LOTLD.

Hunchman: What did you do with the two Hoodblasters? Did you get the Matuvu in combo?
