I will never be able to read another of Stacey's posts without imagining her voice saying it. :mryellow:

I'm curious as hell about what the boss fights are like. 8)

And yes, you said Forgotten Swamp, but my mind played tricks on me. :paranormal:
p.s, how do you know it's called Forgotten Swamp? I didn't see any level names...

I know I sound like a 10 year old. x:

Forgotten Swamps is what that level is called in the final Atari version.

Perhaps you should burn the demo to a disc?
Hey there.

I was just looking at the RRR2 files ( to find a way to rip its music ), and I discovered something.
Here are some filenames and pieces of text I found.
- "PROTOTYPE_Minigame_RideLeCochon.wol": Ride the Pig... in RRR2?
- "prez_E3_Ruines_lapins_Foret.wol": ?prez?_E3_Ruins_Rabbids_Forest? Umm... looks like something that wasn't in RRR2 or RRR to me. Looks more like the R4 prototype.
- "MONDE_03_RideRequin.wol": Ride Shark?!? R4 proto, anyone?
- "MONDE_04_DONJ_Globbox.wol": Globox in RRR2?!?

There are also at least 5 gladiator arena files in RRR2, while there is no gladiator arena, only in the original RRR ( correct me if I'm wrong, I never played RRR2 ).
Also, there are files and bits of text with all the original RRR's dance names:
"Misirlou.Good .4.Girls J}.W"0*U.H".+.Fun.Hip Hol..oray.La B..:.D....Iron.V"..".3.Butcher..D.jay.Ubisof..#.ntpellier Choir"
All the warthog races too, the beach, the desert canyon, and... "_main_E3EndScreeen.wol": Files from the E3 demo, LOL.

Conclusion: Ubisoft ( especially Ubisoft Paris ) is stupid and lazy. Let's see what I find in the original RRR. Maybe the whole prototype has been saved in there after all. XD

Droolie.
When you said that maybe the whole prototype had been put on the disc...were you being serious?

The Dream Forest level in the Jag beta after the Swamps is really weird. It's like they cut two levels in half in this and then joined them together for the final. The red spiky fruits [or bongo berries as I call them] also swing a LOT slower than normal, making it a tad harder to get past.

It also seems, that second time I saw Betilla she gave me like, 2 powers, hanging and grappling. Grappling is usually achieved when you beat Moskito, but I just realised that I already had it by the time I opened up Band Land.

So they've sort of merged part The Swamps of Forgetfulness with part Moskito's Nest, and left out parts of both...?
I find it difficult to fit this into my brain. A video would be good! :P

...Skops isn't in the Dream Forest in this beta, is he?

Skops being in the Dream forest is yet to be confirmed. For now, the level where Moskito chases you with the giant berry is still here. Dodging the spiky fruits in this beta is really frustrating.

Wikipedia wrote:Rayman's Foes

Moskito: This giant mosquito rules the Dream Forest. He is the first of Mister Dark's minions Rayman will meet. As Rayman watches out for falling fruit, he punches Moskito until he gives up and reforms for good. On Rayman 2: Revolution, he goes by the name "Bzzit".

Mister Sax: The deafening Mister Sax dwells high in the clouds of Band Land. He blurts out more than a few false notes, but Rayman can use it to his advantage and fire the explosive notes back at Sax, defeating him.

Mister Stone: A stone-faced madman with a temper to match, Mister Stone is immediately out to crush Rayman the minute he enters the Blue Mountains, but the technique backfires and Rayman crushes Stone instead.

Space Mama: This denizen of Picture City descends straight out of a science fiction film. Space Mama is a tough cookie with a deadly rolling pin. Rayman dodges the pin, and punches Space Mama out.

Mister Skops: This menacing creature sleeps deep beneath the Caves of the Skops. His armour is impenetrable but his own tail proves to be his undoing, as Rayman deflects the tail-beams back at the tail and defeats Skops.

Mr. Dark: This diabolical character is Rayman's arch-nemesis, with wizardry to match Betilla's and more than a few tricks up his sleeve. He hides in the sugar-coated world of Candy Chateau. After Rayman defeats everything Dark throws at him, Dark flees. As of right now, his whereabouts are unknown.

Another villain, Mr. Clay (a parody of Batman's Clayface), was designed to appear in the game, but the idea was dropped and Mr. Clay was not involved.

Hm...in the unlikely event of that info being genuine, Mr Clay could be the boss of Picture City, and if that is the case, he could be in the beta. However I am not getting my hopes up.

Nice vid, Stacey! So the trick is not pressing left and right at the same time? I'll try that this weekend then. :D
Probably with GlovePIE on, with a little program so I can't press them both at all. ^^

VJ is still very unstable, plus from what I gathered from its official webpage, the left and right thing is caused by a glitch in the game's 68K thingie [not familiar with that sort of stuff lol], mind I've not tested any other game other than Rayman and its betas so it could be an emulator thing. Drol, does Rayman himself freeze into the YEAH pose when you do this? When it happens the only way out is to drown in the floods.

[VJ related: audio's being worked on according to my lurkings]

And ugh that Korean kid's been harassing me with the same RAYMAN JAGUAR DOWNLOAD SITE NOW shit, he's blocked now.

That guy has no life at all. He's asked for RAYMAN ATARI JAGUAR VIDEO UPLOAD NEED on RZ, PC, YouTube and Betilla's Gardens :P I left a comment on his channel, asking if he was jang-hee-won (which he obviously is...).

His English would be improved if he used a low-quality translator.

But that's off topic! Let's talk more about betas!

Is this beta different from the one leaked by Sonic Cult?

Yes. That demo [Nova] can be found on most sites that have the ROM of the final Jaguar game, like Planetemu.net.

It's not emulator thing or they're kinda similar: PT causes whole freeze of final game when pressing <-+->.
