Video Game Traditions

Post by Shawn »

I think I'm alone on this one. Well, I have these traditions of what string of video games or just one specific game I'm going to play around a certain holiday. I don't ALWAYS follow these traditions though.

But, their origins come from my happy memories from playing a certain series of games around a certain time or Holiday. (If I put "nothing" it means I play whatever I want.) Here they are:

Valentines day: Nothing
St. Patrick’s day: Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time
Memorial day: Rayman GBC 1, Rayman 1, and Rayman 2: The Great Escape (Rayman 3 doesn't give me any Nostalgia.)
First day of summer: Legend of Zelda Twilight Princess
Middle of summer: Sonic Adventure 2: Battle, and Legend of Zelda Wind Waker
4th of July (Independence Day): Nothing
Halloween: Luigi's Mansion
First day of winter: Sonic the Hedgehog 1, 2, and 3 and Knuckles
Around Thanksgiving: Goldeneye, and any Star Wars game
December 15-25 (Christmas): I go all out with Mega Man, baby!! All the way up to ZX: Advent.
New Year's Eve: Any Mario game I feel like playing.

So, that's mostly what I can think of. Like I said, sometimes I decide not to play those games, and just play whatever I feel like playing around those times, or I forget. But, mostly, I stay true to them. I am Sean Adair, I'm known for many things, and Nostalgia is one of them. ;)

I play that game when I ever I'm in the mood to get pissed off. Not very common.

I always play Football Manager whenever I have a free moment, really. It's more addicting than World of Warcraft, for sure!

It sounds like you're saying that you wait all year for that one day to come along so you can play that game!

At one point it was football season and I was in the mood to play a shitty game on the Megadrive called World Cup Italia '90. It's the funny kind of bad, because of its sound effects and how every player looked like they had afros.

What's even sad is that I beat it at that time. Damn I want my Mega Games I cart back. :{

No he didn't. His name is actually spelled Sean, but he likes Shawn better.
Or at least that's what I've been lead to believe.

After finding it annoying, i started finding it funny. :mryellow:
I guess the entire game was meant as a joke, after all.

Yup, that's the truth. Sorry, Spiral. Better luck next time.

Hardly. When I haven't played that game for a long time, I'll stop playing whatever I was currently, and beat those games around those times.
