Why not use the sun ? If solar energy can power a house then it can definiately power a car.

Recycling Petrol is dumb. We should invest ecologic friendly types of fuel.

Thanks to Chernobyl the whole world (except France) is afraid of using nuclear energy, so that's not an option. Silly really, seeing as nuclear plants are really much safer than most people think. The Chernobyl accident happened in an outdated reactor controlled by an incompetent crew, and the risk of such an accident happening again is much, much slimmer than it was 20 years ago.
