Donkey Kong Country

Post by Holy Crap »

Any fans of the series here? I've been playing these games since I was about 3 and I really love them.

I personally think DKC2 is far superior to the original. I've never played DK64 but it seems....wierd. :?

I've played Donkey Kong: King of Swing, if that counts.

Oh man. DK is yet another series where I haven't played any game in the series. I do remember the cartoon though, a bit too well.

:mwahaha:

I only like DK because of the giant bananas in MK Double Dash, and that he gives you free money in MP8, but that's it.

The songs are stupid, the plots are nice but goofy, the animation is REALLY creepy and embarrassing to look at. But I have good memories of it anyways.

I loved the DKC cartoon as a kid because I somehow magically was able to mentally filter out all of the songs. I don't know how I did it. I rewatch some of the episodes on youtube, and can remember lots of things from a few of the episodes except all of the songs, and all of the songs are cheesily horrible (except the Pirate kremling song).

The Rare games are pretty ace as well, except for DK64 which was average IMO.

I've heard that Donkey Kong is actually Japanese for 'dumb monkey'.

Wikipedia wrote:Miyamoto* believed "donkey" meant "stupid" in English, and assumed the name Donkey Kong would convey the sense "stupid ape" to an American audience. When he suggested this name to Nintendo of America, he was laughed at, but the name stuck.

Oh my shit, I love the games. Except most of the new ones. Paon can kiss my ass.

Rare rocks, I liked the cartoon as a kid but I bet you, I could make a better cartoon (I wanted to anyways).
