House spiders are totally harmless though, so I don't see why people are afraid of them. I remember some of the girls in my old classes wouldn't even dare go anywhere near them. They wouldn't dare be in the same room as one - when they saw one on one of the windows, they used to flutter about like headless chickens. It's just silly. My sister was (or is I suppose) similar in a way. During the summer our shed becomes full of spiders and their webs, there must have been about fifteen. I asked her to go and fetch me a bucket which normally lives in the corner, and she wouldn't dare enter the shed at all. And yet the spiders always reside either on the ceiling or in the cracks - nowhere near where the bucket was. In my opinion it's just silly how people can be shit scared of such harmless creatures. They can't move quickly either.
