Rayman 2 PS1. Nuff' said.
Re: How did you become a Rayman fan?
Well, it started when my friend got his Wii with RRR. It was fun. I liked it. So the other day i got RRR for Pc. But my computer was already quite old. And RRR didn't run. So i gave up. Then it was my birthday. I got a cgift card for 20 euros. So i wen't to the shop. I bought some comic books. The shop keeper told me i could still buy stuff for 10 euros. Well, i tought, maybe i'll get a nice video game, so i took a look in the old games box ( my computer wouldn't run the new ones anyway ) and i found Rayman 10th anniversairy for about 7 euros. I tought that this would be fun. And when i took a look at the back and readed the texts and the images i was sure i choose this. So i bought it. I went home and played Rayman 2. I had much fun with it. I really enjoyed the magical atmosphere, the characters, the whole world. Well, and then i was a Rayman platformer fan.
That's the whole story. So you see that people who met Rayman with the Raving Rabbids can become a platformer Rayman fan too

Re: How did you become a Rayman fan?
I was about 2 when my dad(a major games-geek btw) bought Rayman1 for the new PS1. Of course as a baby I couldn't play the damn thing. When I started school I used to play it though, never got passed pink plant woods
. I remember drawing pictures in class and cutting the parts up and re-forming him and pretending to be the Hunter and killing my friend in the playground(he was Rayman lol).
Rayman2 was already released though, but we had rented it a billion times at a video-store. It was either that or The brave little toaster.
Then, when I was 9- Rayman practically forgotten at this stage- I saw R3 advertised on TV and I begged my mum if I could have it.
Hence, to this day I'm still a fan, buying any left-over games I happen to pass in the shops.
...I really need a life.

Re: How did you become a Rayman fan?
I was about 7 or 8 when we got our first PC. At first we only had primitive games like Tetris or Mahjongg on it but one day my dad decided to buy me a real game. So we went to shop and that's were I saw Rayman Designer. It caught my eye and my dad bought it for me.
I liked the game so much that I wanted to have Rayman 1, too and as I liked that one at least as much as Rayman Designer, I became a fan.

Re: How did you become a Rayman fan?
I had played Rayman 1 and 2 before but this was the time when I only played Crash Bandicoot and couldn't get into any other series.
My friend (who was a Rayman fan and always tried to get me into it) got me Rayman 3 for my birthday once. I can't remember getting far in it though. One or two years ago I got the 10th Anniversary GBA pack and it was so freakin awesome. Since then I have picked up the other games really cheap pre-owned

No, he types at a rate of almost one word per minute ("join mi cln" = Join my clan) and he probably never even heard of a forum before
Also he calls people 'nerds' and 'get a life'
(when they have left the room obviously)
The worst liar i know also.

Re: How did you become a Rayman fan?
People who struggle to find keys on the keyboard are hilarious. I picked up each key's position after the first week or so. I know a friend who doesn't even know how to type a question mark.
Re: How did you become a Rayman fan?
It took me a month to learn typing every character with the help of my sister.
Re: How did you become a Rayman fan?
I stunk at it.
I'd stab the keys one-by-one with my index fingers.
Re: How did you become a Rayman fan?
I first read about Rayman in an old Disney Adventures magazine article. It had one screenshot of Bandland, and I thought it looked pretty cool but I never saw it in stores so I never played it. When Rayman 2 came out there was an ad that flat out said the game was a work of art, and to my younger self (I was 8 or 9) that seemed like the most arrogant way to sell a game ever, so I had this irrational hatred of the series for a long time and never played any of the games.
Then when RRR was announced I started paying attention. the ridiculous premise pretty much sold me on it. There was a screenshot where Rayman was on a spider and a guy on a forum said "Oh yeah, Rayman. Thats a clever disguise. Wear a bright disco costume and ride in on a huge spider. Those rabbits will NEVER notice you sneaking in" which just struck me as a humorous situation. I just got finished playing Jak 2, so I wanted to play something that didn't take itself so seriously and RRR fit the bill. The concept art where the rabbid is clutching the wiimote and going "Wii? WIIIIII!" pretty much sold the console for me. Since this was back when it was still a platformer I bought the first two games online in anticipation (I didnt buy 3 because it was about 20 bucks while the other two were a dollar each) and played through them and enjoyed both games (although I got stuck at bandland in R1).
Even when it got changed into a minigame comp, I was still excited for RRR. It was the first time I was sold on a game purely for its characters and personality. I don't think I would have ever given the series a try if it wasn't for that game.
I remember the specifics now. Also, be prepared for bad stuff to happen in October 08.
Love,
Present time Me (which to you is future me)
